Blackwater Eco Pods
Objekt Blackwater Eco Pods nalazi se na 21 km od Tynte's Castle te nudi vrt, popločani dio dvorišta i besplatan WiFi. Sve jedinice sadržavaju terasu s pogledom na vrt, kuhinju s hladnjakom i mikrovalnom pećnicom te privatnu kupaonicu s tušem.

Great weekend with Eco tours
What a beautiful hidden gem❤. The eco pod was very clean, cosy, practical and a great experience for our family (2adults, kids 9+12yrs). Set back from the main road in a cute little village with a nice village pub close, which is perfect for pub food or a drink or two or a game of pool. The village shop across the road had all the essential if someone needs something and coffees, the most homemade yummy cakes and sausage rolls and in the evening the 'Saucy hen' serves the most delicious curries (make sure you order beforehand so you dont miss out, it was soo delicious!) All is in very short walking distance. You can have your own bbq by your eco pod, just bring coal and your food. The blackwater eco tours were amazing to deal with and the kayaking on the blackwater river was such a fantastic experience for all of us. Kids were with one adult each in a double kayak and although it challenged your muscles at times, it was most enjoyable, the kids had a great time and kayaking on a tributary was so beautiful, peaceful and just fantastic. Always having Vinny from Eco tours close by and looking out for us and giving us a hand. He shared his very interesting knowledge about the area and the kindness and help from Eco tours had no limits. Everyone in the village was always so lovely and kind and we as a family had a fantastic weekend glamping. Even though it rained one day, the eco pod offered us lovely cosy comfort to play boardgames together. Thank you Eco pods/tours for a great weekend. We all had the most enjoyable time and a fantastic weekend! Can only highly recommend!

Good and bad
The very compact Pods were comfortable, practical and clean.
There is no onsite parking. You must leave cars on the street or in an adjacant front of property.
No shampoo was provided.
Despite our announced evening arrival time, in late December, the pod was not heated. Only when we arrived could we begin to heat the place. As a result the bed was freezing.
One of the four tiny milk "jiggers" had burst, and had soaked the sugars etc with visible mould. This should have been spotted by the staff preparing the pod. See attached picture.
It is also a stretch to say there is a kitchen or kitchenette, as there is only a kettle, toaster and microwave.

Secure and super location
Super spot in a lovely sleepy village. Secure location off the main street with key fob access only. Very comfortable facilty and had everything that was needed. Plenty of space for 2 adults. We stayed 2 nights and fresh towels/toilet paper left on door handle were left for us after our 1st night. Despite the bathroom being very compact the shower was top notch with plenty of hot water. Bed and pull out bed v comfy. Laura was the perfect host.
Pub next door very handy and convienent. Ate here both nights burgers/pizza and had great chats with some of the locals. Gina was great and lovely to chat with.

Good value, authentic community experience
Everything about this trip was relaxed and easy. Starting with a sunny Friday evening drive and the pub next door to the Eco Pods providing a relaxed environment for refreshments when we arrived. Add to that weather in the mid 20's on Saturday, hot by May standards, and a short stroll down to the pier where life jackets were available to jump into the Blackwater and cool down. We also enjoyed the vintage rally passing through Villierstown on Saturday, and a stroll to Dromana House and gardens. Saturday evening we enjoyed the gorgeous take away food from the Saucy Hen, with weather warm enough to eat outside our pods on the picnic benches provided. And what about the pods themselves? They were spotlessly clean, (thanks Grainne) with bed linen, towels, crockery and cutlery basics for self catering. They are also kitted out with microwave, mini fridge, kettle and toaster. These plus the micro bathroom, and you have all the essentials. It is worth pointing out that the Blackwater Eco Pods are part of a Community not-for-profit project, delivered by an exceptional bunch of community leaders, making it a very worthy location to spend your hard earned cash. Our trip was topped off with kayaking on Sunday morning, the kayak centre is another dimension of this amazing community not for profit project. If you are looking for an authentic break, where you feel like you are getting great value, and where you can experience local life in this under explored part of Waterford, then look no further. The five children aged 9 to 14 had a ball, and the adults could relax and enjoy the indoor/outdoor pod experience. We had perfect weather to enjoy the pods to their max. Our interactions with John, Laura and Vinny provided inspiration for our own community initiatives. Thanks guys for the welcome and the great weekend. Áine.

Night with the girls
Great weekend in villierstown - pods were super, very clean, convenient location, idea for a night away with friends. Plenty of river activities on the door step Would highly recommend for a short break
