Cashel Holiday Hostel provides accommodation in a town centre location, less than 10 minutes’ walk from the Rock of Cashel. With dormitories, private rooms and an apartment, it offers laundry and luggage storage services. Mixed, male and female dormitories feature bunk beds and have use of shared bathroom facilities. Some private rooms have their own en suite bathroom. Guests have 24-hour access to the living room and kitchen facilities. The 1-bedroom apartment at Cashel Holiday Hostel has its own kitchen facilities and dining area. It has a kettle, toaster and fridge, and an attractive outdoor seating area. Limerick, Cork and Kilkenny are all within 1 hour’s drive of Cashel. The hostel is just a 1-minute walk from the shops, restaurants and pubs on Main Street. Please let the property know your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking or contact the property. Yuck

Terrible place, Greedy owners put Irish people in emergency accommodation on the streets to take in Immigrants for financial gain. AVOID AVOID AVOID..... Place is also filthy and freezing cold I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!!

Cashel Hostel

Stayed here in August facilities very poor, and the hostel seemed full of displaced people who never left the Hostel, putting a strain on the limited faclities that were available the rooms and bathrooms were in very poor condition, not the type of place you would went to go to for a hoilday.

Disastrous

Four of us booked two twin rooms, we arrived at 7.50pm, our friend was booked into the b&b next door which is owned by the same person, she spoke to the owner and told him we were 20 minutes or so behind her so he knew we were arriving shortly. We got in the door as someone was coming out, there was nobody in reception and we rang all the numbers provided, no answer from any of them, left three voicemails and eventually had to leave at 8.25 to visit the friends we had gone there to see. We left a note on the table in the B&B but there was still no keys and no call or text throughout the night, two of us had to stay elsewhere and a resident in the hostel who also apparently worked there put the other two of us in a dorm room. There was a man sleeping in there so it was clearly a male dorm. The owner was nowhere to be found the next morning either, still no return phone call or even a text to apologise. The whole thing was a farce from start to finish. Never again.

filthy room and rude manager

We booked a double room, at a b&b-rate (75 euro) but found a bunk bed there and the carpet was stained and not vacuumed. The whole hostel has carpet, which made it extremely dusty, We decided to stay somewhere else, because I have dust allergies. I asked the manager on the phone whether it was possible to cancel because of my allergies and he refused to give me any kind of refund and hung up the phone on me while I was still talking. We left anyway. Filthy, outdated place.

Good for travelers with low standards.

Reasons why I didn't like this hostel, which is also the worst hostel I ever stayed at:
1. Everything is cheap, dirty looking, old couches, furniture, etc. all most likely bought from a thrift store
2. Staff is barely ever working or at the desk. The girl who was helping us at the front desk was so clueless and made a lot of little mistakes. But I digress...
3. Our room was a private two person bunk bed which clearly used to be a BATHROOM turned into a bedroom by simply removing the toilet and adding carpet. The sink was still in there, although it didn't run.
4. It was FREEZING cold when we visited the room! I slept with my coat on.
5. Also, all the showers are cold running water and you have to push this button to get running water about every 10-15 seconds. I didn't even take a shower, thank God I only stayed on night.
6. When I opened the door in the morning I found an old man peeing without even shutting the bathroom door, right across from my room. But guess that isn't technically the hotels fault,right?
7. May I also add how dirty and old everything looks?
8. It costs the same as a really nice hostel I stayed at in Dublin (Generator) and was also the worst one, ironically. Don't let the price fool you. This place is old.
Point is... this place is NOT worth the money and I have NO IDEA why it has 4 stars! Ick. Go at your own risk, if you are into low quality places. You can get a better place for the same amount of money.
