We had a two night stay and the breakfast on the first morning was a little flavorless (poached eggs ) but my guest had French bread which he thoroughly enjoyed . So much so he had the same on the second morning . I had the full Irish the 2 nd morning which was far more enjoyable

I am not generally posting hotel reviews, but in this case I do because I shared my views with the hotel, which is my prefered communication channel, but they choose to gently ignore
The things I liked - overall atmosphere - room decoration - gym and spa / pool
The things I didn't like - the small size of the room - the dark corridors - the waiting times at the lifts at every single moment I needed them - the location and the "prime" parking recommendation, with partnership, which is far away - i am unclear why they don't partner up with the closer one
My main issue however was the use of the DUVE platform as guest management, sending me far too many mails and whatsapp's - 5 in total - I had a trip through Ireland with 16 days / 16 hotels, if all would have done like you that would have generated 80 emails / whatsapp messages. The mails were not relevant as all the information could have been supplied in the original confirmation. The mails varied from trying to upsell, trying to nudge me to check out earlier than the official check out time and last but not least, trying to have online check in where they asked for privacy sensitive data (copy of my passport), which they apparently didn't actually need because you didn't ask it during physical check in. As i had to read them through the hotels.com app, it even made things more complicated

Very high lunch price.
On a short day trip to Cork, had lunch in The Dean with a family member and her 3 year old child.The food was average in terms of taste and presentation, it was edible. The price was SHOCKING. The Rigatoni had a couple of pieces of spicy sausage on a mound of spaghetti. €26.My chicken parmigiana was a quarter of a small chicken fillet on a mound of spaghetti.€28. The child's plain spaghetti with a side of tomato sauce was €9.50.and her 2 scoops of ice cream €3. We shared a limoncella meringue pie €10, had 2 cokes €8.40 . A total of €84.90...Add on 10% service charge ...€93.
Basic , simple ingredients, that don't take high energy to cook....and do not warrant Premium Pricing. We did note we were the only customers in the restaurant,no surprise at that extortionate price. We won't be returning.

A Stylish Stay with Just a Little Room for Refinement.
Stylish, Confident and Exceptionally Well Run
The Dean Cork is a hotel with a clear sense of identity. From the moment you walk through the door, there is an energy about the place — contemporary, confident and refreshingly different from the conventional hotel experience.
The design is striking without feeling forced, and there is real attention to detail throughout. The rooms are smart, comfortable and thoughtfully finished, while the overall presentation of the hotel is excellent.
What impressed me most, however, was the service. Good hospitality is about making things look effortless, and the team here do exactly that. Staff were professional, attentive and genuinely welcoming without ever being overbearing.
If I had one criticism, it would be the noise. The hotel's proximity to the railway station is obviously extremely convenient, but you can occasionally hear the trains, and the hotel itself has quite a lively atmosphere. Better soundproofing would elevate the experience considerably, particularly for lighter sleepers.
That aside, there is a great deal to like about The Dean. It knows exactly what it wants to be and delivers it with confidence. Stylish surroundings are one thing, but when they're backed up by good service and a team that understands hospitality, that's what makes a hotel memorable.

Lovely hotel, small gym and pool, sauna and steam room. It gets busy in the evenings, but very relaxing. Walking distance to the city
