Used as a base for sightseeing

Stayed for two nights and booked a triple room. Had a lovely stay at the Clifden Guesthouse by Nina, it was comfortable clean and a great central location just of Grafton Street, staff were very nice and helpful, would recommend and use again.

Not a pleasant welcome or value for money.

I arrived with my young disabled son for overnight stay, to be met by a miserable man who barely spoke. Then the man asked me for my bank card and I explained I had paid in full . He said I had to give him a card but I didn’t have one as I pay on my card. But no that wouldn’t do so he asked me for cash..€50. I have never stayed anywhere to be asked this before . It was an absolute cheek. I was really annoyed as it showed a complete lack of trust. I said I would not be wrecking the room stealing anything and I’d want my money back. Our room was fairly clean . Lovely towels.. talking noise from staff through the wall next to a bed. I left at 8 am in the morning and again with out any friendly words , no smile or anything curtesy shown my money was handed back.
An expensive room for unfriendly, rude. I was disappointed with the experience.
Note too that in the morning black bin bags along the road had been ripped open by seagulls and we had to walk along the pavement dodging awful waste food and rubbish. It was foul!.made the what would be a lovely road into a really horrid looking area.

Skip this dump.

Don't stay here. The neighborhood is super sketchy and the room was TINY. Worse, my kiddo could not sleep in her bed because she literally had bedsprings jamming into her back. Lights didn't work, shower was weak, and they offer no amenities at all.
