Thank you for a lovely weekend!

We spent four lovely days in quiet and comfortable Dún Laoghaire at Haddington House. We stayed in the wonderful Adelaide suite.

Room just let the place down

The hotel is in a fantastic location, and every member of staff we encountered was friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. Unfortunately, the main disappointment was the room and the overall comfort of the hotel.
The hotel felt very warm and clammy throughout, with very little airflow. Air conditioning, or even better ventilation and the ability to properly open windows, would make a huge difference. Our room was particularly uncomfortable as there was virtually no airflow, making it extremely hot and unpleasant to spend time in. More concerningly, our room door did not have a functioning lock, which really shouldn’t be the case in any hotel.
There was already a small fan in the room when we arrived, which suggested that the heat and ventilation may be a known issue. When we raised our concerns, the only solution offered was an additional fan, which unfortunately didn’t do much to improve the situation.
Breakfast service was quite slow, although I want to stress that our server was excellent and couldn’t have been more helpful. Unfortunately, the cooked breakfast itself was disappointing. The eggs had a very strong vinegar taste, and overall the cooked food lacked seasoning.
On a positive note, the buffet selection was very good. The bread was excellent and the pastries in particular were top class.
Overall, the location and staff are real strengths, but the room comfort, ventilation, security and cooked breakfast need improvement. With those issues addressed, it could be a much better hotel experience.

Great experience

Wonderful experience at Haddington. Staff are helpful and friendly. Great location to access the entire area without staying in Dublin. Would visit again.

Great room, Perfect location

Loved our stay here and are already planning to return. The signature room was of good size with a great view of the sea. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic dinner in the restaurant, and the breakfasts were excellent. It’s nice to be able to utilize the free bikes to explore Dalkey.. There is so much to see and do in the area, plus it is also an easy Dart connection into Dublin,

A lovely slice of heaven.

This is a hotel which is excellent in every way. The rooms are very well maintained. A fair number have a sea view. The staff are polite and exceedingly friendly.
At the restaurant the food choices are excellent and full of flavour. The restaurant overlooks a beer and wine garden
There are bikes for hire. The site overlooks the harbour.
If we are staying in Dublin, it is the first place where we check availability.
