Very enjoyable stay

Could not fault this hotel. We were on a coach trip. Our room 209 was clean with fresh towels every day. As someone else mentioned, the toilet was a bit low down but we managed. The food was good and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again

Hell

Just had the worst experience ever in this hotel, I layed awake for the whole night because the room had a pump in the roof over the bed which was running constantly, and they will not look after you when you complained about the noise, never again , I only gave 1 star because you have to put something in.

Disgusting

We had booked with this hotel and a family with 2 children, on arrival we were told we had been placed in the ' Slaney Suites' not part of the hotel, across the road and into apartments, looked grubby from outside, but inside was dirty chairs that had visible grime on them! Approached manager who did nothing but tell me ' there is nothing wrong with the suites'. We decided to source alternative accomadation and left, on raising a dispute with booking.com. we have been told the hotel will not respond to emails therefore we are only entitled to 10% back from 621 euro!! Absolute disgrace that the hotel is able to do this, keep the money and make no attempt to right a wrong! Avoid at all costs and be wary regarding booking.com citing policies and avoiding responsibility

Cold Showers Avoid Room 402

We stayed at Treacy's Hotel for a weekend in July. We were looking forward to it as we had stayed there a few times before. This time we were extremely disappointed. We had booked a 'Deluxe' room on the 4th floor. I use the word 'Deluxe'very lightly. On the Friday evening the room was like a sauna on arrival and the aircon did not work. We had to open the high level windows. Also the shower was cold. We didn't complain at that time. The following morning we had the same problem and both had cold showers. We reported this to reception on the way out for the day. We were told it takes the hot water a long time to get up to the 4th floor and that we need to run the shower for quite a while. In all the years travelling I have never come across anything like it before. We explained we had already ran the shower for ages, both of us had showers and still no hot water. We were ensured there would be someone in to fix it within the hour. When we returned that evening the receptionist informed us it had been fixed. This was not the case so again we had cold showers. We had asked to move rooms but were told the hotel was full. We then requested to see the manager. We were offered a discount off our next stay by the receptionist. We declined and asked to speak again with the manager. The receptionist told us the manager would be out to see us in 5 minutes and would find us in the bar. The manager never showed up. This is the part that I find absolutely appalling. We were totally ignored by them and this is certainly not a professional way to treat your guests. Dreadful experience all round!

The bedrooms were very clean and well maintained. The bar, dining room carpet and stair areas are in need of refurbishment. The breakfast was excellent, good choice, food was hot and fresh, friendly staff, and it is in such a convenient location. If it had its own car park it would be brilliant!
