Beware Check Mattress

Omg I was absolutely disgusted. Check out pictures of Mattress. Booked room at around 6 in the evening and arrived just before 8 it was the shortest stay ever. The photos say’s it all. The owner lives at property ( he informed me he was owner) yet when I rang to say I wouldn’t sleep on such a disgusting mattress he made excuses about having a four year old child and the office was now closed, he only charged his mind when I told him I would take keys and return in the morning which he said wasn’t going to happen he informed me I wouldn’t be leaving with keys. He said he would get there as soon as he could. He made me wait 20 minutes despite him living in building he was in room opposite mine which was number 1. He was not apologetic just a weasel of a man. What a shame to have a nice building a put mattresses only fit for a skip on the bed. He did give me a refund from building next door so for anyone booking Desota House 54 Newcastle Road Galway it might be wise to check your mattress.

A poor quality B&B: no breakfast possible, just a B&nothing

Spent 2 nights here.
No hot water in the kitchen, not fixed despite a call to the owner.
4 chairs for 7 places, no common breakfast possible.
Only a boiler available with no coffee machine.
Well located (10 minutes walk from Galway center)
If you find another place, don't hesitate: you will find better for less money.

Absolutely excruciating

We checked in at four, we didnt sign anything or have to produce any documentation,
We left in our bags to hit the town, after a night of fun we headed back to the b&b and this is when disaster struck.
There was no light in the room bar a tiny lamp that didn't even give out as much as a phone glow. The walls were paper thin and you could hear every footstep in the complex.
There was only one bathroom for the entire floor and we slept right next to it meaning we heard every guest that night. Not to mention at one point a couple showered together and left my partner holding her pee all night for fear of using a bathroom that had just been used for God knows what,
No tv in room
No kettle in room
No iron
!NO LIGHTS!
this place was beyond a disappointment it was torture, the guests should be the ones paid to stay in such a dump.
The worst part was that there was no supervisor staff on site AT ALL just a number to call which when contacted we were asked if we could make do.
This was absolutely abismal oh not to mention the breakfast isn't actually provided, guest are shown a kitchen with a fully stocked fridge and told to help them selves.
But let me paint you a picture, you've been up all night because of noise, you finally drift off to wake up late at 10 in the morning due to the lack of sleep you run for the shower, oh too bad someone's in there, they finish up you finally have a quick wash and a shave pack your bags and by the time you go down to prepare and cook a fry not only is all the food gone but now you have 15 minutes to check out.
Well done you just paid full price of catered b&b experience to sleep in a noisy dingy blacked out version of a bad frat house.
I doubt these people even have a hotel and catering license.
By absolute all means, avoid this place like the plague.
