I would live here.

A beautiful house with plenty of history set in gorgeous grounds in a wonderfully remote area, close to lovely beaches with coastal walks, yet only 20 mins from bustling Sligo, Robert is an excellent host, he filled me in on the history of the house and spared time to really show me around the property, I stayed in one of the cottages at the side of the house which are perfectly self contained and very peaceful. There is also plenty of parking here.
I would definitely recommen it and would stay again in a heartbeat!

Outstanding place to spend a stay in Ireland

This location is a place to get a rest and to relax. Robert the host is doing a great job and you really feel at home. The house itself breathes a special charm the allows you to really relax. In a walking distance of 5-10 minutes through trees and meadows it is possible to reach the beach and have a swim or take some deep breaths at the sea.

A truly lovely country home

An absolutely lovely place. A beautiful country house. Host very welcoming. Location is amazing, the drive up to the secluded house part of the adventure. The view from the rooms, the comfortable beds. Can’t wait to go back!

A unique experience I will always remember

Very comfortable accommodation in an idyllic location with charming and helpful hosts. If you prefer the sanatized, homogenized experience of international hotel chains you may be happier elsewhere. This is an authentic, old world experience with real people who truly care about the quality of their hospitality.

Old House.

It was a bit of a surprise arriving at Ardtarmon House - the place looks like it has been neglected for many years. The entrance- not an obvious entry point with a door with peeling paint etc.. and a threadbare carpet in the hall.
If the owner reads this .. this is the first impression that guests have. Spend a bit of money to make it more welcoming!
Having said this ... our stay was comfortable although it would have been nice to have some bathroom amenities provided.
The impression I got was that the place was being run on a shoe-string - no frills etc.
Not a place I would return to or recommend.
