Wonderful position at the meeting of the waters. Breakfast great. Shower was not hot.

The pictures showing outside the premises
Are of beautiful scenery, the building itself is very rough and tired needs cleaning and painting outside and in, though the bed was comfortable, it was very dated, the breakfast was very limited and the breakfast area needed a lot of attention
I felt it was expensive for what you get,

Disappointing

There is no disputing that The Meetings is in a beautiful spot as long as you book a room with a river view as the other side is straight out onto the road
We stayed on a Friday night in May so not main tourist season but it was absolutely dead in the bar so clearly not used by locals as it’s a bit far out of the villages either side
You will need to travel to get something to eat as the restaurant is closed
Our bedroom was large and the bed was comfortable and it was very clean but the room and decor were soulless it feels like the owner has checked out in terms of giving it a personality. If I say there was a Christmas picture of a snowman on the wall it gives you some idea ! There is a terrace off the bedroom which would be lovely on a summers day.
The bathroom was very basic and hot water was in short supply and the shower cubicle is old fashioned and small
The tea and coffee selection was minimal
Breakfast was extremely disappointing to say the least
Would not stay again until it’s shown some love as it could be great and I’d currently over priced for what is offered

To be avoided

Sub standard accommodation, shower didn’t work, room badly needs upgrade. The whole area i.e restaurant, bar, outdoor areas needs a lot of work with Christmas decorations still hanging in restaurant area. The breakfast was not edible, so called scrambled egg was a cold chopped omelet and full Irish breakfast was obviously reheated with widened mushrooms. I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone.
