Wonderful island holiday.

From the minute you arrive on the ferry, you are taken such good care of by everyone at the Doonmore Hotel. The food is excellent. The rooms are very comfortable and the views are amazing. There’s something so calming about the island and you will want to return again and again.

Great stay at the Doonmor. Great food, walks and swimming. Staff very friendly and attentive. We'll be back.

Relaxing break

Had a relaxing, sociable and comfortable stay in Doonmore Hotel where we treated like friends! Comfy beds, tasty food, lively bar and stunning beaches aling scenic walks outside the door.

Excellent

Just returned from our break in Inishbofin and as always really enjoyed our stay in the Doonmore Hotel where Andrew and Donna treated us to the finest food and live entertainment. Our seaview room offers fantastic moonlit nights and Atlantic sunsets. The newly refurbished bedrooms have really added to the great experience and I would highly recommend a visit.

Great comfort, kind care.

We arrived on the 11.30 ferry, on 23rd August 2026, and Andrew picked us up and brought us to the hotel. We took a short walk to the Inishwallah red bus and had lovely Indian food and salad for lunch. When we came back, we booked into Room 2 which faces the sea, with High Island in the distance. The room was very comfortable, and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. That evening, we ate in the restaurant and the food was delcious. I remarked to Sandra, my wife, that the Doonmore seems to get everything right. I didn't realise at that point how right I was. Sandra went to bed after dinner and I sat in the living room downstairs for an hour. At that stage, I was ready for bed, but I had stomach pain, and, thinking it was indigestion, I took two Gaviscon before getting into bed. The pain didn't go away and I got some paracetamol from Sandra, but it didn't help. I tossed and turned in bed, sat up, stood up, lay down again, but couldn't get rid of the pain. Sandra may have had some sleep, but not much; I had none. At 5 am, Sandra rang the emergency number, and Andrew came to our room. He recommended ringing the nurse on the island. (There is no hospital or GP on the island.) The nurse, Mags, came, and gave me some stronger painkillers. I ended up sleeping a good part of Monday and taking painkillers to ease the pain. I rang my GP and made an appointment for Thursday, as we were due to go home on Wednesday. On Tuesday, we decided to go home early. We had booked until Wednesday, but the hotel didn't charge us for Tuesday night. I can't say I got much from this visit to Inishbofin, but the hotel took most of my worries away. They were super. I will book them again soon, for a proper stay, uninterrupted by illness.
