A great meal!

An amazing menu with exceptional food and service. I had the battered fish and chips. Portion size amazing, I was full leaving, mushy peas were delicious. One negative, the chips were maybe frozen, not the real macoy! My husband had the cod and again amazing flavours. No problem leaving a service tip. Will most def be back.

I look forward to returning to the Bosun

Absolutely love this place. Martin the waiter and the bar staff welcoming and gave excellent customer service. Diane the breakfast chef makes the best full rish breakfast! Tried the salmon and scrambled eggs the 2nd morning and it was delicious. I forgot my phone recharger and Diane gave me hers to use. Room was immaculate and had the best nights sleep.

Poor service spoiled the occasion.

Booked lunch for family occasion on Sun 4th May 2025. A very disappointing experience due to atrocious service at reception and particularly in the dining room. No table allocated; yoldcto sit wherever we liked! Had a wait of 1 hour and 15 minutes between finishing starters and getting main courses. We had to go find a Manager to get matter sorted. Priority was being given to two larger parties in the dining room. Chaos. On a positive note food, when it arrived, was very good.

Gorgeous views, lovely breakfast, but noisy and cramped

We have eaten at The Bosun restaurant on several occasions and always enjoy the food, so when visiting family this trip we decided to give the accommodations a try. It is situated on a very picturesque riverfront, and we had the loveliest view! Breakfast in the morning was generous and well made: the smoked salmon on eggs was my favorite. The biscuits and chocolates left in our room each night was a very nice touch.
However, this is an older building and the rooms are quite dated and small. The bathroom is so tiny and cramped, the shower vaguely unsavory, in need of a good scrub and some repairs. The bedroom is also small and the walls paper thin: between a guest snoring the night away next to us and the street noise from early morning deliveries to the restaurant next door, we did not get a good night's sleep. I think for the price we paid, we were paying for the cachet and charm of the location and "character."

Break away

Stayed a few days in the summer restaurant food wasn't great but the breakfast was goo. Room was a bit cramped but clean. The breakfast servers were not welcoming no interaction with the guests .
The cleaner was excellent and anything we needed was no problem and informative on were to go. What you need when you are on holiday.
