A wonderful stay

Wonderful hotel and great location, close to public transport by bus and by dart train. A lively village with plenty of restaurants and pubs and being right on the coast a perfect walking route.

Alarms go off all night long

I have been to Ireland many times, and I love this country. However, this hotel is why many Americans don’t. It is a well appointed, well photographed hotel, with decent restaurants. However, there is no air conditioning, no concierge to help with off property reservations and the showers set off fire alarms all night long. It is very difficult to get a good night sleep

Nice hotel with staff issues! Hot, bad view, and EXPENSIVE!

Stood in line well over 20 minutes to check in with 4 people ahead of me and 2 behind me. One person working the desk and she didn't call for help. For the price (E680 for 2 nights) I paid for the room the view was terrible. We were on floor 1 overlooking a roof and metal structures and the parking lot. Are you kidding me? When I asked upon check in if there was another room she said no we are booked. There is always another room. The manager was standing there and when I asked what the view was his reply was "not much". Nice! The window opened about 4" which didn't allow much air in and the room was hot the entire time we were there. No exhaust fan in the bathroom made the entire room moist and hotter than needed. When I tried to turn on the air conditioner/fan with the wall control it started to turn on and then shut off and gave an error code. I called down and the man said do you want me to come up and turn it on and off? Umm no, I already did that. He said he would put in a maintenance request to have the AC fixed. The next day I find out the hotel has no AC anywhere anytime. Why not just say that? The selection of pastry items at the coffee bar after 4pm was almonst non-existent with only a brownie. So no luck grabbing a treat with tea. We were travelling and needed a take away box for breakfast and asked the hostess for one. She said she would grab one - then 5 minutes later said she is getting the box. At the 10 minutes mark my husband and I took our breakfast to go using your plates and bowls and silverware as I could no longer wait. Very inattentive. I later returned the dinnerware to the hotel leaving it on a table. The room was clean and quiet, but hot and stuffy. The price did not reflect the stay! Don't know that I would recommend this hotel to others.

Room was a twin but was oddly situated. Bathroom was generous. Windows are operable and there was a fan in the room but no air conditioning.

We stayed here for our anniversary following a recommendation and had a largely positive experience. The location is beautiful, everywhere was spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly. Both breakfast and the evening meal were also very good. Our only disappointments were that our anniversary wasn't acknowledged despite informing the hotel and restaurant in advance and a bathroom smell meant we had to change rooms. The staff moved us quickly but the second room lacked the romantic feel of our original choice. It is a lovely place and we would return but a few small details could be improved.
