Nice hotel with very warm rooms

Super nice hotel, delicious morning buffet and good P-relations
BUT DESVERRE the rooms are very warm and not the possibility of opening windows besides a small kip-window that does not provide much fresh air

The Real Grand Hotel

This hotel has spacious rooms and a well spread lobby. The food is good and the service is friendly. Rooms are well furnished and maintained. Ambience is luxurious.

Atrium view room was HOT

We spent our last night in Iceland here, and while the room was beautiful and the bed was extremely comfortable, our atrium view room was SO hot… we tried to turn the thermostat down but it didn’t make a big difference, and the in floor bathroom heating couldn’t be shut off… we woke up so uncomfortable in the middle of the night - the hotel provided a fan when we complained but it just moved the stale air around, so we had to ask to be moved to a new room with an exterior window - this helped a lot but by this point it was hard to get back to sleep. We were also surprised that booking through Expedia mentioned free breakfast included, but this wasn’t actually the case. The hotel location was quite convenient and free parking was great, and having a fridge in the room was nice, so just beware to choose a room carefully when staying at this hotel. I gave 3 stars because I was able to share these concerns with hotel management and they worked with us to make it right after the fact.

Great, convenient location!

We had a great visit! The hotel was conveniently located, a quick drive to downtown. We appreciated being able to get into our room early and all of the staff were incredibly friendly.

Hotel Reykjavik - An Excellent Overnight Stop

Hotel Reykjavik was an excellent overnight stop in Reykjavik the night before our cruise. The hotel is very pretty and the staff are friendly. The room was comfortable. The restaurant was convenient and the food was good although a bit pricey. Overall, I highly recommend it!
