Very good accommodation

Guesthouse ideally located, very quiet despite the proximity to the road. Very comfortable and very clean room, with very good bedding. Bathroom very large and very clean. Small cozy dining room. Breakfast is included with the overnight stay. Only downside: pity there is no fresh bread in the morning (only bread from bread crumbs) otherwise, the breakfast is well provided and the Mr who takes care of it is very friendly and kind.

-The clarity of the information received to check IN independently and those related to the stay, with a lot of freedom of movement.
-The cleaning of the toilets, the bathrooms are 2 available to all.
Rich, tasty breakfast with varied choice between savory and sweet.
-THE GREAT COFFEE.
-In front of the Arsalir Guesthouse Vik B&B there is a kiosk that makes crepes.
-Excellent location
-And especially the friendliness, kindness, hospitality and helpfulness of the host: for example, despite arriving outside check in hours, the host waited for me anyway!

The worst guesthouse in Iceland - we left early and recommend you avoid it!

When we arrived, the outside of the building looked really shabby, not at all like the photos we'd seen online. Our overall impression was that the place was "creepy" and we certainly didn't feel welcome. We were assigned a room in the basement right next to the shared kitchen. Unfortunately there was a palpable dampness in the room, along with a damp smell that somebody had tried to mask with bleach and air freshener. There was very little room to stow our luggage, and while the private bathroom was a decent size, there was visible water damage particularly around the door, and mould on the grout.
Some other guests came down to use the kitchen and we could hear every word of their conversation as if they were in the same room. There was no privacy whatsoever.
We had arrived late afternoon after a long drive, so unfortunately we couldn't leave leave right away, but we immediately booked another hotel and left early the following morning, losing the money we'd paid for the subsequent nights.
Our booking was for three nights and was the second most expensive per night of all the places we'd stayed on our 19 day trip around Iceland. It is clear that none of the money is going towards the upkeep of this guesthouse and I would highly recommend you avoid it.

Simple stay in overpriced Vik

Kind staff, clean house and room, parking, really good crepes in the little house at the parking :)
Kitchen in the basement, not so well equipped as we got used to on Iceland, but we managed :)our room was really small, and little chances to hang things.

Good structure

It is an old villa that has been converted into a guesthose.
The owner was very kind and explained everything.
We had a room with a private bathroom. The room was quite spacious and clean. It was located in the basement, despite this it was quite bright.
It is possible to use a small kitchen that is always in the basement, but be careful because it does not have a stove, so it is not possible to cook. However, it has a fridge and microwave.
On the ground floor there is a living room / common room where you can dine and / or entertain for the evening.
Breakfast is always served in the common room. It is buffet style and is very varied.
