Recommended
The accommodation was great. Very quiet location and very lovingly designed. The room had no air conditioning but thanks to the thick walls was still pleasant and clean. Good parking is available very close to the property. The couple Matteo and Romina were very friendly and accommodating. Matteo gave us tips regarding food, parking and Bergamo. Additionally, we were able to contact Matteo via WhatsApp regarding questions at any time. The stay was very successful. We would definitely come back.

REVIEW " THE LITTLE HOUSE IN THE HILLS" BERGAMO
We are a couple together for a few years, we stayed at the structure "the cottage in the hills" in the second half of August 2024 and personally we had a great time. We chose the smallest room, on the ground floor, also for the slightly cheaper price. The room was really beautiful, and comfortable. The spaces were right and we felt comfortable. We are not a couple with big pretensions or necessities, so we adapted well with the spaces, but if someone was looking for a room a bit 'more spacious I suggest those upstairs larger. The bathroom was also very spacious and I loved the shower, beautiful and spacious. The detail that there was a window in the bathroom to ventilate the spaces after the shower and to let out the moisture, in my opinion is an important plus, detail that many other even more expensive structures do not possess. The bathroom is separated from the rest of the room by an opaque glass wall with a sliding door, always opaque, to allow a little privacy. This could be in some cases a disadvantage, in the sense that I do not recommend the room, which we have chosen for us personally, to two people with a low degree of confidence (such as unintimate friendships, acquaintances or work colleagues). It might be slightly awkward. In this case I would suggest to compare with the owners for one of the other rooms of the structure. However, I was in the company of my partner and the opaque wall was not a big obstacle because we know each other very well. The area where it is rented "the cottage in the hills" I particularly liked it because it is really quiet and surrounded by the green countryside of Bergamo. The landscapes surrounding "the cottage in the hills" are truly breathtaking, and have given me peace and relaxation. It was also pleasant to take evening walks along the narrow streets, which branch off near the structure, because it is a very quiet area, sparsely inhabited and the few families who live in the neighborhood are quiet, all giving a sense of calm and security not insignificant. We felt safe returning from walks even late at night, around midnight (unlike some neighborhoods on the border of other big cities, which often give the impression of being decadent, dirty, poorly cared for and unsafe in the evening, even for the target of people who wander in certain neighborhoods). So for me it's another plus point. I also congratulate the owners who have always been extremely available for all our doubts since the Reservation phase, and even during our stay they took care of every detail during our stay, such as arrangement of the furnishings on the veranda in front of the entrance, equipped with very nice colored tables and chairs, excellent for some afternoon or evening chat in relaxation, breathing fresh air and enjoying the green of the surrounding mountains. Another detail I noticed on the veranda was coffee table stocked with leaflets, maps, brochures and informative books on tourist attractions in and around Bergamo, provided in different languages such as German, Slovenian, English etc; up to details such as daily supply of fresh water in the room, biscuits and small packaged snacks. coffee, herbal teas and tea, cleanliness of the room and fresh and clean washbasins and general supply, in the bathroom, were never lacking. I can not add that our holiday was wonderful. The strategic location of "the cottage in the hills" allowed us to relax and feel quiet and safe in the middle of nature, but at the same time its proximity to the center of Bergamo made it possible to visit many tourist attractions, without having to travel too far. Bergamo Bassa is really lovely, has conquered us with its vitality, shops, trendy clubs, restaurants and really delicious typical food. The upper part of Bergamo has bewitched us instead with its breathtaking views from the Cinta Muraria, and from the Porta di san Giacomo beautiful both at night and during the day; the charming alleys of the center full of small Cabin bars, and the artisan shops were fun to explore, between health and descents that brought us to Piazza Vecchia, of indescribable beauty and the Colleoni Chapel is surreal. I also suggest visiting the Natural Science Museum which I found really interesting. The areas surrounding Bergamo also have a lot to offer for nature and trekking lovers, including caves, woodland trails, rivers, streams and waterfalls. In conclusion our holiday was special, we created and immortalized many good memories, only too little time to visit all the beauties of the area, so in the future we will almost certainly return for new explorations in Bergamo and surroundings and definitely return to the magical "house in the hills". Thanks again to Romina and Matteo for the kindness and helpfulness and hospitality they offered us at "little house in the hills" that made our stay and our holiday unforgettable.

Not very enjoyable, but good location
This is a good location for the price, but there were some issues that can not be ignored.
1) This was described as a 'Bed & Breakfast', however, upon arrival, we found out that the 'breakfast' was some processed cakes and crackers which would not make anyone full (this was apparently communicated on the booking site, but it should have been more clear (the owner understood our misunderstanding and proposed to get us breakfast for a small fee, which is good service but should not have been necessary))
2) We were 5 people with 3 rooms. Two of the rooms were without aircondition, and incredibly warm (+30 degrees C). We had to ask to get a fan placed in the rooms, which helped a bit, but did not cool the room down at all, leaving us to sleep in rooms at around 28-30 degrees.
3) One of the rooms were booked due to its 'balcony' feature. This feature did not actually exist, as it was only about a 30 cm ledge behind a sliding door, where a person could barely even stand. So this seemed like a big lie and a slight scam.
4) One of the rooms (room 3) was for two people, but the 'wall' to the bathroom was just a class sheet, that did not reach the ceiling or the walls, so any sound or smells got through to the sleeping area. Also, this is a small one, but the interior was honestly the most chaotic, mismatched and unfortunate sight we'd ever experienced on a stay.
5) The rooms we're not very clean. The sleeping area and toilets were good, but there was dirt and dust in other corners and areas of the rooms, which made unpacking unenjoyable.
Overall, the owner seemed very kind and helpful, but it was a lot of unlucky circumstances which made this stay not too enjoyful.

Nice and quiet place a stone's throw from upper Bergamo
Very quiet place with very nice room and bathroom and large window overlooking the hills. We appreciated the possibility of reaching upper Bergamo without having to take the car but with a pleasant walk of about an hour and a half (route suggested by the very kind owner). Coffee machine, kettle and packaged croissants in the room for a quick do-it-yourself breakfast. Advised!
