Excentric hotel

This hotel is mega good! Clean, charming and eccentric at the same time.
Can definitely be recommended and we will definitely be there the next time we are in Bolzano.
Breakfast is excellent.

Fabulous hotel with so much character and wonderful staff

The building is spectacular! The interior has been lovingly restored to show some of its original features and character whilst being modern. It is beautifully decorated. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The location is right in the heart of Old Town Bolzano and walking distance to everything! I stayed 2 nights then went to Merano and I loved staying at the Goldenstern so much that I cut my stay in Merano short one night, even though the hotel was already paid in full so I could return to the Goldenstern for one more night!
It was a wonderful experience after traveling by myself for 6 weeks. The Goldenstern was my favorite hotel. It is very atypical from a big chain hotel and that is a great thing. It has so much character, comfy beds, spacious rooms that are all different from one another. The breakfast was sumptuous with plenty of options, great coffee and a huge selection of teas with very pleasant staff.
I loved how clean and quiet the hotel was as well. It absolutely ticked all my boxes. I will return to Bolzano because the town is charming but really it is the Goldenstern that will call me back!

A fantastic hotel stay

I think this is my favourite hotel I've ever stayed in. We loved everything about the Goldenstern Townhouse, from the very friendly and helpful multilingual front desk staff to the gorgeous building, central location and fabulous top floor suite (number 24). We had so much space and really appreciated it, as a multi-generational family. The photos on the website are great but they don't do justice to the sheer amount of space - it was an apartment more than a suite I would say - we had a fully equipped kitchen with a table and chairs, a living area with a sofa and desk plus two generous bedrooms, separate shower room and loo, and two lovely outdoor terraces with views across the roofs of Bolzano to the mountains. The hotel is stylish, historic and is furnished with great taste and character in my opinion. The rooms of our suite were quite minimal but every piece chosen with care and as a result it felt very spacious and light. It was a pleasure to spend time there.
The hotel website does say it clearly: because of the historic nature of the building there are a lot of stairs. Our apartment was on the fourth floor - there was a lift to the third floor but there was a short flight of steps down to it and the top floor was only accessible by stairs. I counted 76 steps up to the door of room number 24 if you walked all the way. Some would say this is a great way to burn some of the many calories you will likely be consuming in Bolzano's many fantastic restaurants, wine bars, ice cream shops and pizzerias! We did not find it a problem: the oldest member of our party used the lift and took the remaining stairs slowly! You might want to speak to the hotel team to select a room on a lower floor - I am sure they would be very helpful.

Bolzano at its best!!

Beautiful renovated townhouse with excellent Appartement under the roof. 2 bedrooms, kitchen, nice liven , mezzanine and 2 Terrasses different roof sides.

Great service and stunning rooftop views

Wonderful service throughout- reception, breakfast and cleaning teams were consistently attentive and kind. The rooftop terrace view is genuinely stunning, especially in the early morning. Thank you as well for arranging the room I requested; it made the stay feel especially well cared for.
