This hotel exceeded my expectations.

I stayed at this hotel for Easter and Easter Monday, I really enjoyed it, the staff and helpful, friendly and welcoming, the structure is quite clean and very welcoming, the location is convenient 10 minutes walk from Via Etnea.

Unfortunately not pretty, not well maintained and terrible area

Actually we had booked another hotel over last minute, but were then switched to this one. (You should have disagreed within a few days what we missed). In short: We would never have booked it.
Located in a really nasty area of the city - lots of garbage, homeless, noise. Accessibility is scarce in Catania anyway - and even less so here.
The staff were nice, but not very bothered.
The rooms would be nice in space, the beds okay. Unfortunately, everything is run down and worn out. We wanted to stay over New Year's Eve and ultimately left much earlier.
The breakfast room has no coziness. Dimmed light - you can't see out the windows. The chairs on the floor move insanely loud. Everywhere a smell of cleaning agents or fragrances.
The breakfast buffet is okay but unfortunately completely unstructured.
The reception is always isolated. Employees always sit on a comfortable sofa in the passageway area, making phone calls and looking loudly at something on their cell phones. So the service has a lot of room for improvement.
Instead of the promised bar, you look out from the entrance to an abandoned office with paperwork.
We'll never be here again.

Not recommended - better to book another hotel

Creepy accommodation in a bad area. We had endless walks to the center. Nothing is accessible here. The cleanliness leaves much to be desired.

Disgusting!

Absolutely bad experience, never again.
I stayed at the hotel “Laville” in Catania and unfortunately it was one of the most disgusting experiences of my life. As soon as we entered the room everything seemed normal, but already after a few minutes we began to notice very serious hygiene problems. Opening the cupboards we found several cockroaches running between the clothes and on the shelves. This is unacceptable for any property, let alone a hotel that should guarantee cleanliness and safety.
The situation got worse when, checking the bed, we discovered something really shocking: under the mattress there was a dead rat. The smell was terrible and of course the room had not been cleaned in who knows how long. On top of that, under the pillows we found clipped nails, a clear sign of a total lack of hygiene and attention.
The staff were very helpful and did not take our complaints seriously. No proper excuses, no concrete solutions. I highly recommend this property: shameful hygiene conditions, bad service and total lack of professionalism. I will never set foot in this hotel again and I urge anyone who cares about their health to stay away.
