Renovated family farm and home . Lovely place. The owner and staff make it special .
When we first arrived it didn’t look or feel as nice as the photos . We booked an entry level room as we were staying for 7 nights and it add up. We could not stay in the tiny space for a whole week. We were going to leave and stay at a friends Villa . But David the owner and manager was kind to offer us a much larger room at only €100 more a night . The larger rooms are GORGEOUS newly renovated , roomy. Huge Steam shower and massive two person jet tub. David and his staff along with his Mamma make this hotel very special . It was thur family home and farm year ago. David renovated and turned it into a lovely hotel. There are still some things to iron out . But David the owner really cares and works from Dawn into the night making sure the guest are happy and improving the hotel. We loved our stay and will return.

Disappointment
We stayed two nights at this hotel.
Taste is debatable, but the decor we found corny, kitschy and unpractical. The room had a steam bath that gave off a strong sewer smell when used. There was also a large jacuzzi, but it turned out to be hardly usable.
All that would still be forgivable if the service had been up to standard. Unfortunately, that was absolutely not the case.
The staff barely spoke English, seemed inadequately trained and exuded little knowledge of what to expect from a hotel in this price range. On arrival the toilet paper was missing from the room. After notification to reception, this was not resolved. The next morning there were no towels available. When we contacted the reception about this, we got an explanation that the key to the linen closet was missing and therefore one could not deliver towels.
That is no longer an incident, but a structural lack of organization and professionalism.
This hotel presents itself as a five-star stay, but our experience was miles away from that. Beautiful photos and an impressive website cannot hide the fact that the basics are missing: maintenance, service, staff training and attention to the guest.
For us this was a big disappointment and certainly not a hotel we would recommend.

dissatisfied and bored
The sufficiency only for the place and the environment just outside Cortona, nice and really nice even in small things and particular then the kindness of personale.Il fact, however, is that I was invited to a wedding, dear my gift, and the focus was the food and could not be otherwise. The hours, in addition to the outline of photographs for the bride and groom, friends and relatives, had to and were dedicated to diners but if I'm honest I found the dishes far from good, pinzillacchere said Totò. The body did not become a hut and the landscape and environment I would have had the opportunity to visit it again. I mean, I came home pretty dissatisfied and bored.

Top location but disappointing services
We stayed in this beautiful location for three nights during New Year's Eve 2025. The beauty of the relais , its rooms — particularly the well-kept furnishings —, the Renaissance room used for New Year's Eve dinner, the quality of the food and the kindness of the staff (consierge, facility manager and waiters ) are counterbalanced by some shortcomings that, for those who attended them, do not befit a 5-star structure :
• I start with the most problematic and disappointing aspect: the sofa bed on which my son slept, to which I gave up the double bed. The sofa bed is extremely uncomfortable and you can clearly feel the bars on your back, resulting in poor sleep quality. If we had known of the unavailability of a real and comfortable extra bed — as indicated in the email I keep — we would not have stayed with the children. It is true that reporting it after the first night would perhaps have allowed a partial solution, but one night would still have been lost. Given the price and category of the structure this is not eligible and a sofa bed of this type should not be provided or offered under any circumstances.
• One of the rooms of the family traveling with us had an uncovered electrical outlet, with only the badge and no plaque.
• In the bathroom of our room (classic suite ) there is no bidet.
• When we arrived the welcome bottle had been forgotten; the staff, always very kind, apologized and promptly remedied.
• A cup used for tea the previous day remained on the bedside table even after the room was cleaned up, without being removed or replaced. She was replaced on the second day.
• Lacking coat hooks: we had to leave the vests on chairs and beds in an improvised way.
• poor breakfast and mediocre quality. Good cakes but the croissants are unspeakable even on a 2 star.
Having said that, for those who have already attended facilities of this category, we do not consider it a 5 star. I would not recommend it for the quality / price ratio nor for families with children.

Our visit was like being spoiled from the moment we arrived! The staff and even the owner were there to make sure we had everything we needed! Though our visit was in the off season, the only thing we didn't get to use was the pool as it was just too cold. The breakfast, though, was the best we have ever had while traveling! Highly recommend!!!
