Excellent hotel, ideal as a base.

We were guests at this property for 5 days with two children aged 9-12. The hotel, located in the small town of Cornaiano, is small and comfortable, equipped with a swimming pool, hot tub, and spa. Large and clean rooms. Excellent as a base for visiting Bolzano, going for walks and excursions to Merano, the three castles, Rastenbach Gorge, the Monticolo lakes, etc. We opted for half board, since we were always out for lunch. Good international breakfast... with pastries, fruit, cold cuts, etc... Possibility to make sandwiches for trips. Dinner with an à la carte choice of main courses... in addition to a children's menu. The dishes were excellent, always different, and the carrot and ginger soup was amazing (I recommend accompanying it with some croutons). The breakfast hours were very generous... 7:30-11:00, while for dinner I would recommend postponing the dinner time set between 6:30 PM-8:30 PM. I believe, however, that these are mountain hours that we need to get used to. Given the presence of bees... it would be appropriate to cover the buffet with nets. Ultimately, a truly excellent solution for both relaxation and mountain hikes!!

Price/performance does not fit, we would not come back.

We stayed 2 weeks in South Tyrol in a total of 3 4-star hotels, the Mandelhof was by far the worst accommodation.
The rooms in the new building are ok, the food is ok but absolutely not a 4 star level. On one evening there was dessert buffet, you should show up for dinner by 20:15 at the latest, we were there at 19:30 and then wanted to go to dessert buffet at 20:15, unfortunately everything was empty and was also not refilled on request.
The sauna area is very old and nothing has been done for at least 15 years, even this area is far away from 4 stars.
The wine storage is obviously not properly maintained, there is the same wine as vintage 2016 the next day as 2021 and on demand even as 2023.
We didn't really want to publicly review either and shared our experience with the hotel after our stay, unfortunately without any comments.

A place to feel good – always a dream!

We have been coming to the Mandelhof 1-2 times a year for years and this time we were there with friends – and again everything was perfect. The hotel has a special style and great flair that makes you arrive and relax immediately. The whole staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, you feel welcome at any time.
The rooms are very nice and spacious, and the whole complex is a real oasis of well-being – perfect for relaxing. The half board is great, from breakfast to dinner nothing remains unfulfilled. It is especially nice to end the day with a glass of wine or Aperol on the terrace and enjoy the view of the mountains – simply unique! We are already looking forward to the next stay at the Mandelhof – for us one of the most beautiful places to relax and leave everyday life behind.

The Mandelhof is always worth a visit

The Mandelhof is always worth a visit. Great location, very nice hotel with pool and a very great garden. Wonderful food, nice ambience and very nice staff. We have been coming for many years and we like it every year.

Very good service in wonderful complex

From check-in to check-out we were very satisfied all around. It is a family business with nice large clean rooms (some with balcony) on a large plot with pool in the middle of a winery. We had half board and were very satisfied with both the breakfast buffet and the 3-course menu (besides salad buffet) in the evening. The wellness area was little visited in our time, but will certainly be cramped at higher frequency.
Conclusion: we will certainly come back and thank Andreas with his team for the nice stay
