Hotel Mirage, mirage of a 4-star hotel

I stayed at this hotel for one night, I booked a superior double room. Arrived at the hotel they asked me to pay in advance, which I did willingly, but once I went up to the room, total disappointment: room with two single beds pushed together, dilapidated bathroom with a 1930s bidet, water was leaking from the edges, I've never seen a bidet like that, old and ruined shower. I went down to the front desk to complain; the receptionist and a colleague of his were there, and she disappeared when she heard my complaint. I asked for an explanation, and he excused himself by saying it wasn't up to him and that if I wanted to complain, I had to wait until the next morning and speak with the manager. I had to leave early in the morning, so I let it go, but I have never had an experience like that. I pass through Florence often, but never again in this hotel.

The fish rots from the head

A 4-star hotel in Florence cannot afford to be so dirty with outdated furnishings and dilapidated bathrooms.
A rather questionable character, whom I discovered was the manager, shouted rather than spoke at the reception, showing no concern for respecting the presence of guests seated on the sofas. The only absolutely positive note was the reception staff, who always proved to be up to the situation. I hope this hotel comes under the management of the reception ladies for a different future.

A very, very bad hotel.

We went with Pronto tour. A terrible hotel. Everything is old and has a heavy, foul smell. The rooms are very narrow and cramped. The shower cabin is extremely small. The breakfast was terrible. It ruined the holiday.

Two-star hotel.

It only has the 4-star tourist tax (7 euros); the furniture, bathroom, and carpet are dilapidated. We couldn't get the air conditioning and the minibar to work; the attendant came and told us the fridge was broken, and after turning a knob, he managed to get the very noisy air conditioning started. It's a shame to pass this room off as 4 stars!!!

We had to change rooms because we needed two beds and the room we were transferred to had no air conditioning.
I went to the desk and was told they were aware of that (if so, why did they put us in that room?!?!) and it would be up and running shortly.
We were on our way to dinner and were assured it’d be fixed by the time we returned.
Upon return they told us it was fixed but when we got there it was not!
To make sure, I went to our other room (we rented two) and theirs was working great.
The weather was over 90 degrees Fahrenheit and we had to wake up at 4am for an international flight. Needless to say I did not get a good night sleep which did not bode well for a 10 hour flight!
I would like a refund on the one room.
