Fantastic city break!
My son and I had a wonderful stay with you. The hotel is beautiful and ideally located: quietly tucked away just outside the city centre, yet perfectly connected to the city. Our room was neatly cared for and breakfast every morning a nice start to the day.
The patio at the back of the hotel turned out to be an unexpected surprise — a small haven of peace where we could completely unwind after a day of impressions in Florence.
The staff were warm and made us feel welcome from the first moment. Public transport to the city is also well arranged, so you can get everywhere without any hassle.
An absolute must for anyone who wants to discover Florence while enjoying peace, comfort and hospitality.

Accommodation was not as booked
We booked Hotel Ungherese in Florence through Booking.com and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.
Before arrival, we were initially told that the accommodation we had booked was unavailable and that alternative arrangements would be made. Following further communication, we were led to believe that the issue had been resolved.
On arrival, however, we discovered that we had been moved to a completely separate property several minutes’ walk from the hotel, without having properly agreed to this change beforehand.
We have since raised the matter with Booking.com and were advised that the property had been overbooked and that the change should have been communicated to both Booking.com and the customer in advance. We were also advised that this was a breach of the property’s terms and conditions.
Unfortunately, the alternative accommodation was also considerably below the standard we expected.
There were a number of issues with the property, including:
* Dirty and marked flooring
* Stained curtains
* Poor general cleanliness
* An unpleasant bathroom smell
* Damaged fixtures and furnishings
* Uncomfortable beds
* Very small, poor-quality towels
* Poor-quality bedding
* No housekeeping or towel changes during the stay
The air conditioning in one of the bedrooms also did not work properly. This was reported during the stay but was not resolved, making the accommodation particularly uncomfortable.
The check-in arrangements were also extremely poor. We had a confirmed check-in time, but on arrival were told that the accommodation was elsewhere and had to wait before being given access.
There were also confusing requests for additional payments from individuals who were not clearly identified as being connected with the booking. These matters have been raised with Booking.com for investigation.
The breakfast was also disappointing and did not reflect the standard we expected from accommodation marketed as a luxury boutique hotel.
We did try to find alternative accommodation, but due to the short notice and availability in Florence, this was not a realistic option without significant additional expense.
The biggest issue was not simply that the accommodation had changed — it was the lack of transparency about the change before arrival. Had we been properly informed that the hotel was overbooked and that we would be staying elsewhere, we could have made an informed decision before travelling.
Instead, we arrived expecting the accommodation we had booked and were faced with something materially different.
We have photographic and written evidence supporting the issues raised and have formally complained to Booking.com.
Overall, the accommodation provided was not as described or as expected, and the way the situation was communicated and handled was extremely disappointing.
I would recommend anyone booking this property to confirm in advance that the exact accommodation shown on their reservation will be provided and that any proposed changes are agreed before arrival.

Excellent solution for a quick stay in Florence
Very good property and quite well served by public transport to reach the center.
The outdoor space with the garden is cute, but it could be better utilized.

True small luxury
Perhaps the best value for money I have ever tried. A building revised with elegance and taste houses a dozen rooms. With summer garden bar. Small but well-kept and clean rooms - better upstairs because quieter - IDEAL for events and matches at the Stadio Franchi
