Magical inn
In a little village that the map almost forgets, I found a place that the heart remembers immediately. This establishment is a landmark for the entire town.
It is not just a restaurant. It is the living room of the whole town, the soul that beats at the center of the square.
Run with passion by two young people who made a courageous and generous life choice, it has become the soul of the village. Here, Maura and Giacomo had the courage to say 'no' to the easy and 'yes' to beauty. For 11 years they have
chosen to stay, to roll up their sleeves, and to gift all of us a dream turned into a table.
They serve typical dishes that taste like a real home: simple ingredients, cooked with a care that you won't find in tourist menus. Every bite is memory, territory, love.
You enter and you are not a customer. You are at home. You stop to chat, laugh with the neighbors at the table, and time slows down.
It is surreal, in the most beautiful sense: a place like this shouldn't exist, yet it does.
If you pass through this area, do not make the mistake of going beyond. Stop.
I recommend it with all my heart. It is worth every kilometer.

Immersed among the primroses
Meanwhile, a premise: the experience is worth all the curves and hairpin bends present in the 18 km that lead from Gargnano to the Costa resort.
After about 25 minutes by car through pastures and expanses of primroses, the atmosphere that you breathe at the entrance of the room is immediately warm and family welcome.
The wood-burning oven is king on the menu. Starting from homemade bread, as well as several menu proposals (unfortunately we only saw - it was in preparation for Easter Monday - a magnificent porchetta).
Even the pasta is pulled by hand. Very interesting selection of local cold cuts and the presence of game on paper.
The roast rabbit was simply fabulous, with the external crunchiness typical of slow cooking that keeps the internal softness intact.
In the desserts, these homemade dishes also deserve a mention the apple tart and the meringue. Also available in vegan version for lactose intolerant.
The temptation to stay overnight was strong.

The Locanda of Maura and Giacomo is a real insider tip: warmest hosts, lovingly prepared breakfast with fresh fruit and dreamlike blueberry juice, plus cosy rooms with wonderful views.
Dinner was a highlight every day – whether pizza night on Friday, meat skewers anointed with sage butter or heavenly desserts like almond sorbet and cheesecake. Quiet location, great hiking opportunities and breathtaking views over Lake Garda. Highly recommended – we will definitely come back!
