Unbeatable location clean and comfortable room

The location is unbeatable very well connected with lots of restaurants around. The bed and pillows very comfortable. Although I booked a double room for single use I was given a huge family room overlooking the side street so was quiet. The AC was functional and the electric kettle was useful. It is very clean and felt safe. Beware of mosquitoes although they provide repellent in the room. It would be nice to have a mini fridge and reconsider their policy of not lending an iron for safety reasons.

Nothing exceptional! But great location

Great location because it is located in the center .. spacious room but little cared for... dirty blankets and dust everywhere .. stained walls and sometimes without plaster... bathroom not very comfortable .. you see that it had to be obtained...

TERRIBLE.

TERRIBLE experience!
On March 7th I made a direct booking with the owner by phone for May 1st (7 people, 4 adults and 3 children) for which I received regular confirmation emails.
Less than 24 hours before our arrival in Genoa the owner phoned me and told me that due to his mistake he no longer had our rooms available. PANIC!!!
It would have been his responsibility, and his duty, to find an alternative solution and, if necessary, to pay a difference in price out of his own pocket but, in no uncertain terms, his response was "I do not know what to do, I made a mistake but I do not intend to raise even a penny, if you want to denounce me."
After trying in every way to convince him not to leave us at such short notice in such a situation, I received from him only a few messages with links to available facilities but at a price four times higher than his. Then he disappeared.
When I booked I asked for the details to pay the deposit but was told that it was not necessary, so more than his confirmation email I have no other traceable documentation to proceed (as suggested by him) with a complaint that, otherwise, I would definitely have done.
He is not a serious person, he does not take responsibility, even when faced with a situation involving children.
That said, the only thing I would add is, AVOID IT, it doesn't deserve your money.

Poor cleanliness, old-fashioned environment, small and dirty bathroom
Comfortable bed, at least in the room it was nice and warm, with little light on the television and it is advisable to improve the cleaning because no matter how much I paid, it's not worth it

Missing bed slats!

The period building is not bad but when my friend lay down on her side of the bed there was a terrible noise because several slats were missing under the mattress
The owner who was not present and notified said that the problem would be solved by the evening but instead it was even worse
We returned around midnight and it was impossible to go to bed when the owner arrived and everything was turned upside down to finally resolve it!
The owner knew full well that the slats were missing before we arrived!
My friend could have broken something! ☹️
