Lovely hotel, lovely staff❤️

I was here from 3rd June 2026 for 1 week and I just want to say how lovely my stay was, breakfast selection was brilliant, great selection. The pool area was so lovely, very clean, my room was spotless. Your staff are so lovely, everyone was so pleasant and a massive shout out to who I think was your Head Waitor (tall man with glasses I’m sorry I didn’t get his name, so sorry) he was fabulous, very attentive, very friendly and absolute diamond! I can’t wait to come back in April next year

Amazing Holiday

We stayed at this amazing hotel from 6th - 20th May 2026. On arrival we were shown straight to our room. We had a lovely yellow and white room at the front of the hotel overlooking the road. From our balcony we had excellent views of Mount Etna.
I found the mattress a little firm and asked if it was possible to have a mattress topper and was told "of course". This was done the same day. The food is good quality. Mealtimes can be a little bit slow, however, we approached the hotel owner and they were more than happy to accommodate us at 7.15 every night. There are 3 choices of starter and main course each night, but if you don't see anything you like, you can always ask and they will make you what you want.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is in a good location within easy walking distance of the Recanati bus station (about 2 minutes walk away). Naxos water front was also a short walk away.
For us we would highly recommend this hotel and will return.

Great Hotel, poor food

This really is a lovely little hotel, great location, spotlessly clean, super staff. Great breakfast on the sunny terrace.
BUT... don't eat there in the evening. The food was terrible, akin to school dinners or food served in a nursing home. Vegetables mushy and obviously had been frozen or tinned. Meat grey and tasteless. No interesting sauces to enhance the food. For an area of Italy renowned for it's cuisine, bursting with colour and taste, HVD's chefs failed miserably. Several guests complained and left the dining room, others asked for alternatives. The waiting staff were excellent but seemed embarrassed and anticipated criticism. They dealt with complaints well but could do nothing to improve the situation.
Stick to Room and breakfast only, you'll not be disappointed!

Beautiful hotel and friendly staff

This hotel is sooo beautiful. We had a view of Etna and Taormina from our room. The reception staff, particularly Claudia, is very kind and helpful. I would definitely go back to this hotel!

Accommodation first class staff could not be more helpful the location also a dream I would and will be recommending this to my family and friends.
