Beautiful discovery

9 km from Stresa, but really worth the decor, away from restaurants a little catch tourists. Real Italian cuisine, family, fresh and local products. We fell for osso bucco and minestrone, gorgonzola was fabulous. Special mention for the sympathy of the boss and the decor. Attention, cash payment only

Stop for hikers

Good food here. The room was clean, big and nice new looking bathroom. Seemed to be family run and very friendly. No wifi. Bed a bit hard, but we were so tired from our walk up from Baveno, we slept ok anyway. There didn't seem to be many other options in this small town for accommodation.

Fantastic Italian Mountain Feast

Family run. 3 sisters. Fantastic food and hospitality. A place to go eat at if in Stressa. Up in the mountain town and sits near public parking area. The food was excellent and plentiful. Wife is vegetarian and no problems to make something for her. Spoke English too. Enjoy the place if you do try it.

Fine Small Town Inn

We stayed her while walking from Baveno to Mottorone. Very nice place, immaculate rooms, few international tourists. Not a lot of English spoken here, but the lovely young woman, daughter of the owner, if I'm not mistaken, speaks a bit, and everything was very pleasant. Nice restaurant with lost of locals eating the 12 Euro polenta and meat special of the day, or pizza. Far from the tourist path and really quite good fun.

Traditional alpine food in a sleepy but very quaint small village

Our experience at Osteria delle 3V included not only a huge and delicious dinner, but we also stayed overnight as guests in the small inn they run in the rear of the restaurant. The first word that comes to mind when we think of this restaurant is FAMILY. This is a family owned and operated establishment and every member plays an integral role in its success from the chef to the servers, to the hosts… all part of the family. Veronica, our host, is one of the daughters and one of the only family members that spoke a bit of English. She was as helpful and sweet to us as she could be. We enjoyed sitting in the dining room and people watching. Everyone who came to the restaurant seemed to be happy. It was not a fancy place…but it had a bustling energy and it was easy to see that customers enjoyed themselves and felt at home at this feel good establishment with an Alpine vibe. Our accommodations in our overnight room were very clean and provided all we needed to get a good nights sleep. The sleepy but sweet town of Gignese will remain in our minds and heart as we remember our overnight at Osteria delle 3V.
