A stay that leaves a mark
We spent an unforgettable weekend at Hotel La Tramontana in San Domino, Tremiti Islands (FG). The location is simply perfect: a stone's throw from the small town square, the historic villa of Lucio Dalla, and the splendid Cala Matano, one of the island's pearls.
There were three of us and we stayed in a comfortable two-room apartment with a bathroom: spacious, impeccably clean, cool, and equipped with every comfort. A property cared for in every detail, where you immediately perceive the experience of a family that has made hospitality its mission for generations.
We chose the half-board option and we could not have made a better choice. The cuisine offers genuine dishes, prepared with quality products, while the breakfast is rich, abundant, and varied, capable of satisfying every taste.
The real added value, however, is represented by the people. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Grazia, her husband Sam, and their children Steven and Shamss: kind, helpful, always smiling, and ready to satisfy every need with rare professionalism. Nothing is left to chance and you have the feeling of being welcomed not as simple guests, but as family friends. A round of applause also goes to all the staff, always courteous, attentive, and helpful.
If you are looking for a place where you can feel at home, surrounded by the pristine beauty of the Tremiti Islands and authentic hospitality, Hotel La Tramontana is a choice I recommend without any hesitation. We will return, because certain places are not visited just once: they are carried in the heart.

Disappointing
Disastrous. The three stars do not correspond to him. The mattress is old and terrible, the pillows are extremely uncomfortable. We will not return!!! It has a score of 7.5 which in my opinion is not justified at all.

Ageing, in every respect.
I have been to Tramontana for the second time. Unfortunately, things have deteriorated. Positive are the location, the shuttle service to the port and the warmth of the host or husband of the owner.
Cons: the rooms are old and very simply furnished. This is no longer appropriate in view of the room rates. We think the attitude of the owner is bad. She is interested in regulating guests with traditional rules and principles. Hospitality is different and is no longer tolerable these days. Examples: Air conditioning only winds and does not cool to save electricity. Laptops cannot be charged when rooms are locked. Friends were not allowed to put their luggage in our room for a few hours. You would have had to pay for it separately etc etc.

Never again...
The hotel is old, the rooms dirty and completely overpriced. The service at the reception is underground, unfriendly and the service thought is missing altogether. Wouldn't recommend anyone and won't stay there again. Absolutely not recommended.

Pleasant and warm hotel on the Tremiti islands
Reception: the hotel is equipped with a minibus which picks you up at the ferry exit (look for the Tramontana minibus), warm and smiling staff.
Room: we had a room on the ground floor (there are rooms in the basement) which was very good. Large bed, well-equipped bathroom, air conditioning, television…
However, the soundproofing in the bathroom is not perfect, you can hear what is happening in the others, but no problem in the room. Regarding cleanliness, housekeeping does it every day, nothing to say.
Location: hotel close to the center of the island, several restaurants/bars nearby as well as 2 mini markets. As the hotel is approximately located in the center of the island, the beaches are accessible with an average walking time of 15 minutes.
Price may be a little high but we really had a pleasant stay in this hotel.
