overnight before trekking

overnight stay in the city. the welcome of Mr. peter very kind. also all other collaborators very kind and friendly. breakfast above the Italian norms. we asked to anticipate breakfast with no problem. large room, spacious and you do not hear street noise.

Having a room without bidet shows little, which adds to a room that define basic is a compliment.
The strategic location is not enough, if you do not spend money on a healthy modernization of the structure, which rather than Modern could be called...

Hotel honesto

The Hotel Moderno is very well located about 50 metres from Lecco train station. Their accommodations are modest yet honest and the price according to what they offer. Good morning, very friendly staff and good cleaning. Bad just even the shower, as in most of Europe

Great location, Ok hotel, Beware of ZTL

Writing this review to add a warning that the parking lot directly in front of the hotel is just barely inside the Lecco ZTL. If you are using a car during your trip, do not unload in front of the hotel or you will be slapped with surprise fines upwards of a year later. Made that mistake on my trip. You may be able to get whitelisted if you reach out in advance? though I am not sure of all the details or if the hotel has authorization to do so. The Hotel has no warning on their website, and yes, they knew we were bringing a car because we reserved one of their parking spots (which is down a tight alleyway further away from the hotel).
As for the hotel itself, it is fine for a more budget friendly hotel. Room was adequate, though banging of window shutters was heard throughout the night as it was windy at the time. Breakfast was rather lame, even for hotel standards. The main benefit is the location, which is great. Quick walk to the town center with nice restaurants and awesome views of lake Como and the surrounding mountains. I wouldn't phrase it as "poor", but compared to all other budget friendly hotels I visited during my 2 weeks in Italy and Switzerland, it was on the "below average" end, and the surprise fines leave a sour taste in my mouth.
Acceptable for vacationing on a budget, just don't expect to be blown away, and DON'T PARK IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL.

Convenient location

Located opposite the station, it is a nineties style hotel. The rooms I found clean even if on some there is no shower but the curtain. Breakfast is good is enough but nothing superlative. With a little maintenance it could be much more comfortable
