Night in a family studio apartment

We stayed in the studio apartment for one night so we could rest after a concert at Modigliani forum, 10 minutes away. Owner very kind and very helpful, breakfast with a wide choice available in the kitchenette. Possibility to put the car in parking space indoors. For our needs really perfect!

More like a hostel

I was a bit disappointed with the property as I found it quite simple and not nicely furnished. The week before I spent the same amount of money per night in a double room with a private bathroom at a 3* hotel at Lago di Como including a full service breakfast. Afterwards I stayed at private studio that was carefully decorated and had a kitchenette fir the same price.
At La Magnolia the furniture was plain snd outdated. It appeared as if the owners had reused their children’s furniture from the 80’s. The colour concept is a nice idea but was not done with good materials or in matching shades. It just looked like items thrown together. The breakfast items on offer were prepacked cookies & similar. The “bed & breakfast” is a technical term meaninga full breakfast being served - so it’s misleading.
My shated bathroom was clean but I only had cold water in the shower on the first day. Instead of apologising the lady only shrugged and said thatshe preferred cold showers.
Altogether I find that the price isn’t appropriate for what you get. I have travelled widely around Italy and in general to 129 countries around the world so I have seen various types of accomodation. Though Linda was a nice host I would not recommend the place if you like privacy (you can hear the other guests and the people living above), a quiet place (the traffic is quite loud throughout the night, even ear plugs did not help much). I wish I could be more positive but in comparison I expected more.

Hotel is very nice. Very clean. We could use kitchen, but we just drank tea, plus free breakfast. Room very big, and clean. Even though we had to share bathroom with another room, it was not problem at all. Location is also good 14 minutes walk to the center of the city. Linda also recommended us to visit Lucca, and it was very good city.

To be avoided

The worst place I have ever stayed and especially unacceptable breakfast made of 4 packaged and poor snacks. Pack of milk already opened and not even a portion of cereal.Not to mention the sponge for dishes. Absolutely not recommended.
