The perfect base for a Milan city break

Could not have chosen a better hotel for our quick trip to Milan. Regular coach transfers from airports (we came from Bergamo) drop off just across the square in front of the central railway station with its subway station mean the location couldn’t be better. We arrived at 11am and even though check in was not till 3pm the concierge and receptionist were beyond helpful and took our luggage so we could tour Milan empty handed. On our return another receptionist was equally helpful, professional and welcoming. The Hotel is absolutely stunningly decorated throughout all public areas and is immaculately maintained and clean. Our room 302 was again stunning, spacious and clean. Plenty of wardrobe space and a safe. The bed was large and very comfortable and the bathroom, although not massive in size was beautiful and more than adequate. The water pressure from the above bath shower wasn’t incredible but not a problem. The mini bar was well stocked and reasonably (for hotel mini bars) priced. We ate out in Milan but on our return we made our way to the bar where we met another courteous and friendly member of staff. There was plenty of choice for breakfast although the hot buffet was not to our liking the amount of cereals, yoghurts and baked goods were more than enough to satisfy. Due to time and available flights we could only visit Milan for the 1 night but without hesitation we would definitely rebook The Anderson when we return

Fine hotel with easy access to the city or transport links.

Well appointed hotel close to the Central Station. Plenty of good restaurants, the better ones are further away from the station. Breakfast was good, the bar pleasant enough, the room clean, comfortable and a good size. Staff were friendly and helpful. Transport to get around Milan was easy with the Metro nearby or the Number 1 tram. 4 stars as one lift was often not working (my stay was over 3 weeks) otherwise I would have given it 5.

Good Stay

Hotel was 3 minutes’ walk away from Milan Centrale, and is ideal especially if you have had a late night train into Milan. It was easy to find but you will have to look out carefully because there is another Starhotel just opposite.
Room was clean but slightly old, and the corridors were narrow. Lights were rather dark too. However, the bed was comfortable and sheets were clean.
Breakfast was pretty good with both hot and cold options. Variety was average and similar over two days but quality was good.
Overall, a good place to stay for 1-2 nights.

Very good hotel in excellent location with proximity to Milano Centrale FS. Better than most typical station adjacent hotels.
My only negative comment relates to the hotel design itself - the entrance opens to a staircase down to reception level -est 12 stairs!! They offer a button to request assistance, but surely a ramp or a small lift should have been installed at inception? Not sure how someone in a wheelchair would access the hotel. Otherwise a very comfortable overnight stay.

Great staff assistance

The staff service across all areas - reception, cleaning, maintenance, breakfast, management made this a great place to stay. Always polite, friendly and helpful. Rooms very comfortable. Great beds. Some accessibility issues for older people with stairs and shower over bath but staff support always on hand to overcome any issue. Located next to Milano centrale provided great access to all forms of public transport and good access to central area of Milan Duomo. Good range of choices at breakfast buffet. Would recommend a stay here.
