The hotel is a magnificant old palazzo in a great location. The staff is incredibly helpful and curteous. The ACs in the rooms need to be upgraded. Despite the problem we had with the AC, the staff did everything possible to remedy the situation. I rate this hotel very highly.

Serious refurbishment needed!
We’ve stayed here for a few years now but the hotel is slowly declining. The rooms need a serious refurb, especially the very old air con units. It must be costing them a fortune to keep them running. Every year I complain that they don’t allow you to eat breakfast in their beautiful garden and they still don’t. The restaurant manger is very unfriendly! Shame as the location is perfect.

Nice hotel in wonderful ancient palazzo.
Ancient palazzo in the heart of the historic district. Beautiful lobby. Notice the place needs a refresh of the paint and new furniture. Our room had a balcony and a hard mattress. Asked at the desk what could be done to put padding on mattress, receptionist Matteo upgraded us to a better room, room 232, which was bigger, had a view of the garden, and a more comfortable bed.
Breakfast was in the basement which was filled with light from the garden. It is probably wonderful in the spring, summer, and fall, when you can sit outside. The choices we excellent, and you can order special eggs. Cappuccinos were excellent and included in the buffet.
The lobby has an area with waters and fresh fruit. A nice touch. There is a lobby bar, but during this quiet winter time no one around. The lobby has some beautiful paintings and ceilings. Furniture could use a refresh to a more stylish type.
The hotel has a beautiful garden in the back and in warm weather it must be great, quiet and private.
Matteo at the front desk was great and a wonderful source of information and helped us plan a visit to a cheese factory. May at breakfast was cheerful and attentive.

Disappointed, I thought it would be better
I stayed at this hotel for three nights for work commitments. First of all, I want to point out that all the staff, and I mean all, were always extremely friendly, with a special mention to the person who takes care of moving the cars since the hotel is located in a pedestrian area. The breakfast was good in terms of both quality and variety. A note must be made about the rooms because they definitely need an upgrade, also in relation to the price of the property. I found the cooling system totally out of place, which consists of 90s-style radiators that are practically non-existent. The bathroom was really small and still had a very high bathtub that was difficult to access for taking a shower. I believe in the end that decisive maintenance is needed for some internal services.

It was a pleasure to stay in such a historic hotel. We thought it was just right while visiting such a historic city. The location was good close to the city, to the cathedral, restaurants and shops.
It took us 20 minutes to walk to the Ferrari museum.
The breakfast was very tasty. Our room was quiet and nice decorated.
