Villa le Magnolie - excellent

We stayed in the villa not main hotel. Beautiful room and bathroom, very Italian.
Only ate breakfasts during our stays as wanted to experience authentic meals whilst out and about.
Evening bar service an issue due to single member of staff and multiple expectations. Staff all very polite and friendly however consideration of workload might well indicate need for higher staffing levels.
Montecatini Alto via the funicular railway (need a head for heights) is a must do. The hotel is well located for visiting Lucca, Pisa, Florence and many parts of Tuscany

The property is delightful, and the amenities in the adjacent hotel, pool, spa, bar and restaurant very pleasant.
On the down side the bar was poorly staffed on both evenings during our stay with one staff member being expected to cope with coach parties, restaurant orders and provide table service from the bar. Thankfully she was very courteous and we were patient 👍.

Cancelled without warning

Beware when booking, Owner cancelled without warning, due to arrive on my birthday, very disappointing. Now back to the drawing board, looking for place to stay. However, deposit was returned promptly.

Hotel overbooked, we did not get what we had reserved. No compensation.

Due to the hotels mistake, we did not get our 2 rooms that were booked and confirmed to us. They offered us rooms at the adjoining Micheangelo hotel for 2 nights and promised to help with the luggage transfer to the nex location, hotel Panorama (there was only room for 2 nights in Michelangelo). We never got the help, but carried our luggage ourselves. the second hotel was not the standard we had booked. All this made our visit to Montecatini Terme quite different than we had hoped. We also payed the same full price as in our booking, even if we did not by far get what we had booked. A big disappointment indeed.

Great spacious room

Very nice hotel in a nice quiet place ! The room is very big and perfect for a family. Nice big bathroom. Very comfortable bed !! A full buffet for breakfast and nice and polite personnel !! I will return when I have the chance !!
