Beautiful views, peace and quiet what more could you want?

We loved our week here in the hills above Bologna. Angelo was very kind and welcoming , providing good breakfast including home grown produce. Simple but very tasty. The views are astonishing and the quiet magical. This place grows on you, it might not be 5 star, but take the rustic environment and embrace the good life - you won't be disappointed. We hope to return soon.

Awesome location, really nice place

They renovated the whole place without loosing the identity of it.
Every detail has been chosen with a very good taste.
Bathroom have all new features.
Breakfast food is very well selected, fresh and tasty.
Ownership is very kind and accommodating.

Good value for money

Pleasant stay as the location is gorgeous, the service is ok, the B&B is more focussed on (local) wedding parties. We visited during the Italian holidays so it was quiet. The pool is situated a bit further down and has a few sunbeds and a stunning view. I did however miss the 'woman' touch a bit in both the rooms and the service. The breakfast could have been a bit more eloquent, but the coffee was super!

Just a beautiful spot

Beautiful place, very traditional, very close to Bologna. Being on the top of a hill they have an Amazing view 360 degree around. Surrounded by very good restaurants. Nice pool area with great view too. Very charming and relaxing.
This location is perfect not just for a stop over but also for longer staying.
I would suggest it to anyone that is looking for something unique.
The people there are also very friendly.
The best is to sit at their pergola with a glass of Pignoletto, at sunset. You would not want to leave from there anymore!

A marvelous place in the Bologna hills

Il Castellazzo is situated on top of a mountain in the Bologna hills. You have a beautiful view of the surrounding hills and you can see for miles and miles. The hotel consists of several very old, renovated buildings. The work was done with a lot of taste and love. You can sit outside or have a swim in the pool which has a very nice view as well. The rooms are cosy and spacious. The breakfast generous and included, when we were there, an extremely delicious chocolate cake. The owner Angelo is an extremely friendly and good humoured man who served us generously local wine and is a very good sport. The place can also be booked for family reunions or marriages which is a brilliant idea, considering the beautiful place. There are some restaurants within reasonable driving distance. The advantage of the place is that it is a remote hideaway from noisy Bologna, but can be reached in a few minutes from the highway. Try Angelo and be happy.
