Great place

Is the hotel a little dated? Yes
Are there parts that could do with some work? Yes.
But I found the manager to be super friendly and patient with my less than perfect Italian. The room was large spotlessly clean with a comfy bed.
The bathroom was very modern with an excellent shower. I had a lovely view of the lake and the WiFi was pretty good. As a place to stay while you explore the lake or area I thought it was great.
The price to book in person was the same as booking.com but I thought it was fair.
There was also a decent enough continental breakfast.

Behaviour manager to review

Hotel Europalace deserves its 3 stars in terms of facilities: the room was spacious, clean, and the location is ideal, right in front of the lake.
On the other hand, our experience with the manager seriously tarnished our stay. From the moment we arrived, his attitude was cold and unwelcoming. On several occasions, he cut us off as we left while we were asking questions. Despite this, we decided to extend our stay.
Before booking via Booking (where the room was displayed at 133 €), I wanted to go live with him to avoid commission fees. What a surprise: he announces me a rate of 170 € for the same room... while admitting that it is well displayed at 133 € on Booking. When I point this out to him, he takes offense, refuses the discussion, enters his office and immediately changes the prices on the platform – upwards!
Unpleasant, incomprehensible, and unprofessional behavior, to say the least. The result: two nights not booked, a disappointing guest experience, and a rate now higher than the 4-star hotel next door.
Too bad, because the setting is nice, but the Sense of Welcoming really leaves something to Desire!

Stay with friendly service

Reception was very friendly. Slept well, thicker walls. Unfortunately, although weeks in advance requested rooms with views, no getting. View was of the house wall. Too bad, otherwise I would have advertised it on the Internet. I had offered that too. Bathroom renovated very clean. Breakfast was delicious and a sweet little selection. Nice service. Had a public free parking a few meters away

Europalace exceeded all expectations. We got a corner lake view room and it was absolutely stunning! The hotel room was spacious, clear and you could tell that the bathrooms had recently been renovated. The location is perfect, and walkable to all the necessary areas around. The only difficult thing is getting to the hotel. If you take the train, just know there is a bus stop that is slightly hidden that will take you to the city center then you will have to walk to the hotel. But, that is just more of a logistical element than an issue with the hotel. All in all, if I was to come back to the area I would definitely stay here again.
