Rita was a wonderful hostess! The location is away from the crowds and the view is beautiful. The mule path down to varenna is easy to navigate and not too difficult. It is stone and fairly steep though- wear your sneakers! There is a complimentary shuttle back up from the town after 7pm, which is easy to find and use. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast included eggs, pastries, pancakes, and house-made cappuccino. The pool was perfection at the end of a very hot day!

Our stay at Hotel Diffuso Il Portichetto was nothing short of magical. Nestled on the hillside in the charming village of Vezio, overlooking the beauty of Lake Como, this place offers so much more than just accommodation – it offers an authentic Italian experience.
From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The peaceful surroundings, breathtaking views, and the charm of the beautifully restored historic buildings made our stay truly unforgettable. Waking up each morning to the tranquility of Vezio was an experience in itself.
What makes this place so special is its unique atmosphere. It perfectly combines rustic Italian charm with comfort and hospitality. Every detail reflects the love and care that has gone into creating such a wonderful retreat.
The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help with recommendations and anything we needed during our stay. Their hospitality made us feel less like guests and more like friends.
If you're looking to experience the real beauty of Lake Como away from the crowds, this is the perfect place. Hotel Diffuso Il Portichetto is a hidden gem that allows you to slow down, relax, and fully embrace la dolce vita.
Thank you for an unforgettable stay. We will leave with wonderful memories and hope to return again one day. Without hesitation, 5 out of 5 stars!

Wonderful helpful and friendly staff. Immaculate room. Great restaurant. Location was more difficult to access the Port than we expected. The trail was not as easy as we thought although we walked it down to the port. . Rita was very helpful and picked us up from the port one night, the other two nights we took a taxi.

Loved my room, the staff were lovely & even collected us from the ferry & the breakfast was fresh and tasty!

Rita, was one of the most delightful ladies I ever meet. She wanted to help with everything. Taxi call rita, more towels call rita, need to pet a dog, well for that one you will have to call pepo. The resort was beautiful, our room overlooking the pool area and olive tree grove. There was a restaurant on site and wonderful breakfast every morning (a rare fine to have included). There was a washing machine in our room so that was nice too. The only downside was that the hotel is a half mile uphill from town, but you are rewarded with wonderful views.
