Beautiful Experience

We stayed here as part of a Viking cruise post-extension and couldn’t have dreamed of a more beautiful place! We had The Del Cardinale room with the most incredible views. The staff is so helpful and top-notch. The restaurant had one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my life. We will be returning for the incredible accommodations, staff, food and location!

A special stay in a stunning castle

We recently had a one-night stay at Castello di Monterone and wished we could have stayed longer. It was a special treat to experience such a beautiful and historic place with the most friendly and helpful staff. We also had a delicious dinner on the restaurant terrace with its stunning views of the Umbrian countryside. I highly recommend Castello di Monterone as a stunning and unique place to stay, just minutes from downtown Perugia.

Impartial judgment

Sleeping breathing history, this is what we savored staying in this beautiful structure. The location is fairytale, out of the chaos of the city that still remains 15 minutes away by car. I found the room spacious and charming thanks to the references to the Middle Ages in the walls and furniture, equipped with a large bathroom, the only flaw in my opinion the mattress too hard and the pillows too thin. Breakfast varied and good quality. Proper bill.

What a beautiful castle!

My husband and I spent the Valentine's weekend at Castello di Monterone.
It is a nineteenth-century castle, built by a scholar and collector of antiquities on the ruins of a 12th-century castle.
What about... really MAGNIFICENT!
The frescoes, the fireplaces, the armor, the wooden stairs, the ancient inscriptions, the antique furniture (the owner, an exquisite person, explained that every detail is studied in detail: even the wooden furniture are copies of the medieval furniture of Palazzo Davanzati in Florence!): in a nutshell, a medieval dream come true!
The staff is VERY KIND, helpful and welcoming, the breakfast is an unmissable buffet of delicious pastries (but with great breakfast options even savory)!
We also had dinner at the excellent and elegant restaurant of the castle, with very refined and tasty dishes (the restaurant is on the Michelin guide!).
Moreover, the location of the hotel-castle is excellent, overlooking the valley and panoramic views of Perugia (only 3 km from the center!) and very close to the temple complex of San Bevignate, which we discovered and visited on this occasion.
What about it? We hope to return as soon as possible!

Awesome

I absolutely loved everything about this place—it far exceeded my expectations. The staff and owner were exemplary in their hospitality, making us feel right at home. I only wish we could have stayed longer, as we were there for just one night. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends.
We were able to dine at the restaurant even with short notice and the food was just fabulous, as was the breakfast.
