Basic, Friendly, Excellent location

The Villa Franca is perfectly situated to visit the Ruins of Pompei and to use the closest train station at Pompei Scavi. The rooms are basic so dont expect anything fancy! The beds are quite firm too, in Room 4 we had extra blanket and duvet which helped soften the mattress. The ensuite bathroom is fine although could do with a better clean and the shower head needs maintenance. While the pool area is a little tired it was refreshing to have a little swim in the hot afternoon. Best to have your own refreshments if you're planning an afternoon by the pool as the Villa is not always staffed. Lorena & Guiseppe are absolute diamonds and we loved the pre ordered dinner - at €30 per person very good value and usually a surprise too! Loads of courses so don't eat too much while you're out & about! Lorena was so helpful with advice about beaches, restaurants, and organising taxis for us.

Dolce vita

A week just like at home, we feel so comfortable there. The room is clean and functional. Warm hotel, ideally located for visiting the ruins of Pompeii (on foot in a few minutes) but also very convenient because it is 10 minutes from the train station. We enjoyed taking the train to Sorrento and Naples. The weather did not allow us to enjoy the pool, by which we had breakfast and dinner. All meals are hearty and homemade: a delight. The train passes right by, which can be an inconvenience, but we were out visiting all day. Honestly, you get used to it. Very good value for money.

Good value for money

The vibe in the hotel is a good family atmosphere. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The hotel is very close to the entrance to pompeii site and the train station next to this entrance. A bit of a small climb. The noise from the train is not to bad ,but there from 7am to 10pm. On one of the nights a few groups stayed up late chatting and drinking in the dinning area. Kept us up until they went bed. Good value

Oasis of calm

Fantastic value and perfectly located for the Pompeii ruins and local transport options, and within easy reach of the old town, this is a brilliant oasis, offering peace and quiet and perfect hospitality. Owners Guiseppe and Lorena are brilliant multi-lingual hosts, cheerful, helpful and obliging. The air conditioned bedrooms are comfortable and clean. The terrace and pool area is relaxing. Access to a communal fridge or a small fridge in the room would be good addition but is not essential. The local train line close by threatens to be noisy but turns out not to be a problem. Would we reccommend this place? You bet! Couldn't fault it.

Ideal for the ruins.

Just home from a 4 night stay, small rustic hotel, with wonderful owners and staff. Our room was large with aircon and had a very large double and 2 singles and was cleaned daily, the only issue was the large step to the shower which was ok getting in but a little awkward getting out, could do with a handle to hold. The included breakfast was great way to start the day, with rolls, pastries and cereals.
Great location 10 minutes walk to main entrance to ruins and train station although a little hilly. Next to the railway lines and you can hear the trains, but never worried us and they stop at about 10pm, so never disturbed sleep.
The pool is an added bonus, a perfect suntrap until well in to the evening, which after a long day of walking was a godsend.
