Pleasant stay between comfort and crystal-clear sea
I stayed at the Hotel Cala di Volpe and I can say that I had a really great experience in every respect.
The property is well-maintained, tidy, and above all, very clean. All areas, from the rooms to the common spaces, are well-maintained and convey a pleasant feeling of care and professionalism. I particularly appreciated the various areas dedicated to relaxation, well-organized and designed to allow guests to enjoy their stay to the fullest in total tranquility.
The staff was always courteous and helpful, contributing to making the experience even more pleasant. You can feel the commitment to making guests feel welcomed and at ease.
The only aspect I feel I should point out, and which naturally does not depend on the property, concerns the presence of many stones in the sea in the area in front. Although the water is truly beautiful, clear, and with spectacular colors, this characteristic often leads many guests to prefer the pool over the beach.
Overall, however, the judgment is absolutely positive: a well-managed, clean, and welcoming property, ideal for those who wish to spend a relaxing vacation in one of the most beautiful areas of Calabria.

Disappointing experience at Villaggio Cala di Volpe with TUI
The most honest review of Villaggio Cala di Volpe and the TUI Package Tour
1. Location
The hotel is located in a village far outside the city. This is important to keep in mind if you are travelling without a car, as you will essentially be confined to the hotel grounds. There are no shops, pharmacies, or other facilities nearby.
It is also difficult to leave the hotel on foot. The property is situated downhill by the sea, while the road leading towards the town is steep and goes uphill. Walking there in 35°C heat is extremely difficult.
2. No Shop on the Hotel Grounds
There is almost nothing available for purchase at reception apart from a few T-shirts and caps. Therefore, if you forget to bring toiletries, beach items, or any other essentials, you will not be able to buy them at the hotel. Because of the remote location, this can become a serious inconvenience.
3. Restaurant Service
The service in the restaurant is inconsistent. On one day, you may be served quite quickly, while on another, you may sit for 20 minutes without receiving any attention from the staff.
It is also worth noting that most members of staff speak very little English, which makes communication and resolving even simple issues more difficult.
4. Beach
The beach was one of the biggest disappointments. It is covered with small, sharp stones, making it painful even to walk barefoot.
Entering the sea without proper water shoes is almost impossible because the seabed is covered with large rocks and boulders. Unless you carefully check the bottom beforehand, you could seriously injure your foot.
5. High Prices
Prices at the hotel are quite high. One cocktail costs around €9, regardless of whether it is alcoholic or non-alcoholic.
What surprised us most was that a single slice of watermelon cost €7. Therefore, guests who book half board should be prepared to spend a considerable additional amount on lunches, dinners, drinks, and snacks.
6. Inconvenient Check-Out
Check-out is as early as 10:00 a.m. If your transfer or flight is scheduled for the evening, you have to spend the entire day without a room and without proper access to a comfortable shower or toilet.
It was particularly unpleasant when several families needed to shower at the same time in the hotel spa area, where there was only one shower and one toilet available for everyone.
7. Entertainment
The entertainment programme is very limited and repetitive. The same aqua aerobics session is held every day, although it hardly resembles a proper aqua aerobics class, and it is accompanied by the same basic music. There are almost no other interesting activities.
Overall Impression
On the positive side, the hotel is quiet and peaceful and is mainly suited to families. We had no complaints about the room.
However, the disadvantages related to the location, beach, service, facilities, and check-out arrangements significantly affected our overall experience.
Would I recommend Villaggio Cala di Volpe for a holiday? Definitely not.

Parking! Convenient private beach where one could relax completely! Bring water shoes because there are stones!

One weekend was enough to make us fall in love with this lovely place. Two steps (literally) from a crystal clear sea, attention to every detail and impeccable cleanliness of the places. The only flaws: the stones in the sea, but x this is little to do and the mosquitoes in the room: for this instead you can do a lot, a weekly Processing would be enough to eliminate the problem. For everything else it seems to be in Costa Smeralda
