The hotel was a five minute walk to the colosseum and close to several great restaurants. It was clean and air conditioned. Breakfast was included and very good.

The location and amenities make this hotel a must stay. The staff are gracious and so very helpful. They have the perfect touch to make your stay enjoyable. I would choose to stay again in a heartbeat.

This hotel was amazing. It was our first time in Rome and the location was perfect. So many restaurants and shops and gelateries within a 2 minute walk. Hotel staff were all so kind and so helpful. They let us store our bags after check out and we appreciated that so much. Helped us with calling Taxi’s. The complimentary breakfast was so good! Had hot and cold options, was actually way beyond what i expected when they said it was a continental breakfast. Delicious!!! Our room was absolutely beautiful, very clean and had a breathtaking balcony and view. We loves our time at this hotel and would highly recommend it.

WARNING: JEWELRY STOLEN FROM OUR ROOM
WARNING: JEWELRY STOLEN FROM OUR ROOM
Our family recently stayed at Hotel Centro Cavour in Rome. The room was fine and the location was excellent for touring the sites. What should have been a wonderful vacation was diminished when my wife’s diamond anniversary ring was stolen from our room.
We are not careless travelers. We always lock jewelry, cash, passports, and valuables in the room safe. On the morning of our Vatican tour, we were rushing to meet our driver and guide. My wife removed her engagement ring to apply sunscreen and placed it on the desk. In our haste to leave, she forgot to put it back on her finger as we departed (her fault).
We realized while out for the day that she left her ring in the room; panic immediately set in as we rushed back to the hotel. When we returned, the ring was unfortunately gone.
We searched the entire room from top to bottom. We searched luggage, clothing, drawers, bedding, under furniture, and every place imaginable. The ring did not simply disappear.
We immediately reported the theft to the front desk. The response was disappointing and dismissive. We received little assistance and no meaningful effort to investigate what happened. We asked to speak to the employee directly, we could not. We asked for key access records to our room, they would not provide them. While they claimed to have checked the trash and laundry, we were simply told that the housekeeping employee was trustworthy and there was nothing more they could do.
That explanation was not acceptable to us. The ring was on the desk when we left. It was gone when we returned - it did not walk away. The room had been serviced while we were out. The facts speak for themselves.
The financial loss is frustrating, but the sentimental loss is devastating. This was not just a piece of jewelry. It was my wife’s anniversary ring and a cherished symbol of our marriage and memories. While the ring can and will be replaced (first world problem); the sentimental value cannot.
If you are considering staying at Hotel Centro Cavour, take this warning seriously. Do not leave jewelry, watches, cash, electronics, or any valuables unattended in your room for even a few minutes. Lock everything in the safe immediately as housekeeping is NOT trustworthy!
We made the mistake of believing our belongings would be safe in a hotel charging $500 per night rates. We paid a painful price for that trust. Our room was 606, Sixth Floor.

We are deeply sorry for the loss of your wife's ring and fully understand how the sentimental value of such an item far outweighs its economic worth. However, we would like to clarify how the situation was handled, as our priority from the very beginning was to provide you with the utmost support.
We wish to specify that both the reception staff and the housekeeping team took immediate action, carrying out every possible search to find your ring. The room was thoroughly searched, from top to bottom, for two consecutive days, but unfortunately, nothing was found. During both days dedicated to these checks, you had the opportunity to speak with our staff, and we also offered you the chance to speak in person with the housekeeping team the morning after the loss, but unfortunately, you declined. Despite this, the staff remained completely at your disposal to assist you and even meticulously inspected all the trash and laundry bags.
We must emphasize that, while we did everything in our power to assist you in the search, the hotel cannot be held responsible for the loss of valuables left unattended outside of the digital safe provided in the room.
From the very beginning of your stay, our entire team was present and warmly welcoming. We were so happy to host you that, at the request of one of your family members, we carefully prepared a welcome amenity in your room with pastries and fresh fruit; we are deeply saddened to note that this gesture and our constant attention were not appreciated.
Our staff has been working together for many years within this property: they are long-standing professionals of absolute trust. In all these years, we have never recorded a single incident of theft, either in the rooms or anywhere else in the hotel.
We renew our sincere regrets for this unfortunate situation, but we firmly reject the accusations made against the integrity and honesty of our staff.
