Lovely hotel and perfect base.
Great location. Lovely breakfast. Staff all friendly. Basic rooms but spotlessly cleaned everyday. Lovely pool and roof terrace had a jacuzzi with views right over Sorrento and the bay of Naples. Will definitely be back.

Excellent location for piazza Tasso! The restaurant staff were superb and evening meal was sublime.

Paying the full amount for the stay only to discover false information..and then being attacked by the night porter was the last straw..Poor Italy..

We came back for more!!
We returned for another week, to Hotel Vila Maria in Sorrento because we were so impressed when we visited last year. And we will go back again next year.
First and foremost all the staff are so friendly and helpful from reception to the restaurant to the cleaners to the pool staff. We felt they all enjoyed working there.
Our standard room was very pleasant, a reasonable size with a small garden patio (as part of a standard Jet2 holiday). On the downside the shower was occasionally unpredictable but not often enough to complain about. The facilities were as in the brochure, poolside could be busy but always some spaces were available. We enjoyed the restaurant with half board. Evening meal was waiter served. It was well managed and the menu varied enough for our stay- 3 courses with a choice of 3 items in each section and an additional appetizer. Breakfast was busier with a good selection on a buffet basis.
The location of the hotel is 30 metres on a quiet road, off a main street, from which any noise did not affect us, And very quickly you are soon on Corsa Italia at the heart of Sorrento. And don't forget to visit Marina Grande late evening.

Great Hotel with some extra stuff
My wife booked half board accommodation with this hotel at short notice, we got a good discounted rate and it was one of our destinations on our travel-to-do-list. After my wife booked the holiday, we looked at some of the reviews on Tripadvisor and had some reservations based on some of the comments.
It is a typical Italian hotel with a colourful reception and lounge. Our room was spotless, spacious, had ample room to hang up/store clothing and the air conditioning was superb. We found the beds very comfortable.
We found all of the staff to be polite and helpful. The hairdryer broke on our first night and my wife reported it; they offered her a temporary replacement until it was replaced with a brand new one the following day.
The hotel has a small pool, sunbathing and bar area on first floor. There is also a sunbathing and hot tub area on the sixth floor overlooking the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius in the background.
There was plenty of different options for the buffet breakfast and although there wasn’t a great choice of food for the evening meals, we thoroughly enjoyed each and every dish that was served.
The hotel is located in a great part of Sorrento and is within a few minutes’ walk to the main high street which is very lively with plenty gift shops, restaurants and you’re spoilt for choice for a Gelato, with a lemon sorbet being a very popular choice with holiday makers. If like us, you fancy a little snack at lunch time we would give Mari (Gastronomy Bar) a try, they have some wonderful local dishes, toasted sandwiches and desserts at very reasonable prices!
Sorrento is a great gateway to sightsee other local places. We booked three private day trips which were all fantastic. On our first trip, we travelled by mini-bus up the amazing Amalfi Coast to Positano, Amalfi and we had lunch with a panoramic view of Ravello. For our second trip, we had a guided tour around Pompeii, which was awesome, then hiked up to Mount Vesuvius (this was a proper leg-trembler, especially coming back down). On our third trip we travelled by boat to visit the beautiful Island of Capri. We took the chair lift up to the highest point on the island for some stunning views of the Island and the bay of Naples, then travelled by boat around the full island with a stop off for a twenty-minute swim.
If we return to Sorrento, we would have no hesitation to book up and stay at this hotel again.
