Nice, small hotel - ideal for a short break
Small hotel in Trieste, away from the hustle and bustle, therefore very quiet location. Very good breakfast buffet. Room a bit small but nicely decorated. Important to note: in the center it goes downhill, i.e. you have to go uphill again. But a bus stop is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Positively affected by the atmosphere. Impeccable attention to detail. Perfect cleaning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Superb breakfast. Way to go! Bravo

Arrogance and noise
I slept one night in this 4-star hotel.
A nightmare experience. Room 106 that I was assigned was dusty and decidedly dated and poorly maintained. But the big problem arose when we went to sleep. The air conditioner, decidedly antiquated, is noisy and placed right next to the bed. Whatever position you put it in, it's freezing air on you. Once the air conditioner is turned off and the windows are opened, the nightmare of mosquitoes and the air conditioner motor of the next room or lobby begins. In short, a very hot and sleepless night. The worst thing, however, was the arrogance and rudeness of the director. Who responded to my complaints wrathfully inviting me to tone it down. I think the stars of this structure are definitely worth reviewing.

Disappointing room.
After passing through on the way, in a b&b, we decided to pamper ourselves a little more on the way back by booking in a 4* hotel, also because I'm pregnant at eight months, with a belly, and we wanted a little more comfort.
Never decision was more wrong!!!
We called the property to ask if a double room for two people with breakfast included was available, we were confirmed availability and sent quote by email, so we booked 1 night with breakfast included, happy and content.
Upon our arrival we are given what I would call a "service" room: ground floor; only room practically next to the reception, in an indefinable crevice flanked by a closet: number 100! (Remember, if they give you the 100 you categorically refuse)
The key attached to a cheap black plastic keychain, the kind you'd find at the hardware store for 20 cents, probably had to give us a sense of something.
We still enter hopeful (both my partner and I travel often for work, so we are not new to experiences in more or less luxurious facilities... we still expected a standard room, without who knows what luxury, but dignified, since it is still an Italian 4-star) however our hopes are completely dashed:
1) dismal room (nothing to do with those shown on the site, furniture that seems thrown there haphazardly mismatched and badly regenerated)
2) sticky repainted dilapidated micro cabinet
3) micro desk painted black metal
4) bathroom without bidet (in the photos of the double bedrooms the bidet is there and is also mentioned in the list of things in the room on booking), pregnant at the eighth month would have preferred to have it instead of crouching in the shower.
5) disabled shower with plastic tent (please: great to have it for those who have needs, but I did not request this, and the showers shown on the site are all nice and glazed, without the anti-hygienic plastic that sticks on you while you wash)
6) Let's get to the strong point, hold on: if you don't close the only curtains present (completely blackout) the room window faces directly along the pedestrian entrance sidewalk of the structure, so anyone entering the hotel can see you naked or lying on the bed or just see your stuff on display. The only place with privacy, even without applying curtains, is the bathroom.
Definitely a very different room from the others on the site, it really looks like a service room.
I understand that we booked for one night only, and not for a whole week, but... in short, for the price and the title of 4 * hotel I would have preferred they told us not to have any availability.
We would have gone more willingly to a cozy b & b, rather than in the "unlucky room" of a 4-star hotel.
Last note: the breakfast room is undersized (only 6 tables for 2 people) we had to wait in the lobby for a seat to open up. The wait was really minimal, but if one has appointments or schedules to keep it is still unpleasant.
Only positive note: the breakfast was very good.
For the whole list of things mentioned we didn't make representations just because we were tired, we wanted to go for a walk and we had booked the restaurant downtown, so we just wanted to relax without opening questions for one night only. No one at check-out asked us if everything was to our liking, otherwise we would have spent a few words; no one asked for feedback.
Ergo, our dispassionate advice: AVOID ROOM 100 LIKE THE PLAGUE unless you are warned in advance of the fact that it is different from the others by applying some kind of discount (we were made a normal quote without particular notes); administering it to the unfortunate on duty is, in our opinion, a truly unprofessional attitude by such a structure, because I imagine that it is the only one to have all the slew of flaws that I have listed.
That's a shame.

It is not a 4 star, small room with a socket detached completely from above the nightstand smell in the exhaust chamber.
