Basically I was robbed. It was my fault that i messed up the days since I scheduled it one week after but I was in the hotel that day and it was clearly a mistake. There was not a goodwill solve the issue and instead just the greed to keep the money. Inwould have understand of the reservarion was near but it was t and they had plenty of time to have another booking for those days. Not even considered a lower fee or charge wanted to keep it all. Meanwhile the only good person was the night receptionist that tries to help us and even found us another hotel for that night. The management was really insensitive and the hotel tonbe honest seemed old and poor condition. This happened to us three or four times in the last five years and this was the only hotel that didn’t try to help or to find a balanced and fair solution. Next time think twice before being greedy and unpleasant

Avoid going when it is hot

The hotel is not equipped with a central air conditioning system but with old, poor-quality electric air conditioners. They make an infernal noise and therefore cannot be kept on at night. Furthermore, they keep them turned off, so you arrive in the room and it is 40 degrees. You have to turn them on when you enter. Otherwise, an excellent, clean, and comfortable hotel.

Beautiful 3-star hotel is located in the center of pleasant, quiet Varese.

This beautiful 3-star hotel is located in the center of pleasant, quiet Varese and has private parking.
It is clean, bright, and has high ceilings; there is air conditioning.
As mentioned on the website, we received an upgrade to a larger room.
The beds are okay, but street noise penetrates into the room.
The breakfast is extensive and of excellent quality; it is served in the beautiful cellar area.
The staff is very friendly.

Disappointing Checkout Experience Overshadowed an Otherwise Pleasant Stay

I have stayed at this hotel before and generally enjoyed my visits. However, my most recent checkout experience was disappointing.
The first issue concerned payment. During a previous stay, all charges were processed automatically, whereas this time I was informed at checkout that only the first night had been charged and that the remaining balance had to be settled separately. While I understand that procedures can change, this was not communicated beforehand, which led to unnecessary confusion.
More concerning was the way the situation was handled. While the receptionist was discussing the payment, another guest arrived and immediately demanded assistance. The receptionist left our ongoing conversation without any explanation or apology and attended to the other guest first. As a paying guest in the middle of a checkout process, I found this discourteous.
The situation became even more uncomfortable when the same guest later returned and pushed past my wife. Although she objected to this behavior, the front desk staff made no effort to intervene or de-escalate the situation.
The hotel itself may be good, but professional communication, orderly customer service, and respectful treatment of all guests are important parts of the overall experience. I hope management reviews these aspects to ensure a more professional checkout experience in the future.
