Our room had a walk out balcony overlooking the canal. It was so beautiful. It’s a very old hotel but very quaint and so lovely. Would definitely go back.

One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in, in a long tine. The desk staff were helpful but in a hopeless situation. The room was worn out, the air-con was hopeless and the hotel had only one air-con control unit, so to adjust the temp., you had to have the front desk staff come to your room, The in room TV didn’t work, there was no breakfast facility… I could go on. It was just a dreadful hotel - not worthy of even being called a hotel.

Terrible experience

Dirty carpet. The shower did not have an integrated drain (it was positioned near the sink), consequently the bathroom flooded easily. Also, no bidet!

I stayed here for 1 night in February 2026.
Positives
No issue with location. Was about a 2 minute walk from the salute waterbus stop which was ideal and very close to San Marco square
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful at check in
There is a restaurant on-site and if you eat there you get a discount
Hotel room was nice on warm. Ideal for a cold February day
Bed was comfortable
Negatives
The place is falling apart and needs serious refurb
Food in restaurant is not good
Rooms are absolutely filthy
I sayed in a room outside the hotel and about a two minute walk from hotel, no issue there, but the door to this building was broken and not secure at all so very unsafe
Missing bulb from lamp in room
The surround around the wardrobe was coming off
Mold growing in bathroom around shower
Carpet was filthy so had to keep socks on
Overall I am not sure how it is 4 star. More one star. Needs serious money pumped into it to bring it up to standard

The room was not clean. Water from the air conditioner dropped onto the floor, making the floor wet and smelly. We tried to inform the reception, but there was no response. The next day, they placed a bucket, but the sound of the drops falling into the bucket made it impossible to sleep
The shower cabinet was loose and almost falling down.
