Matsukawa is home to Suzumushiso. Nishina Shinmei Shrine and Hotaka Shrine are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Michinoeki Azuminomatsukawa and Daio Wasabi Farm. Ominekogen Nanairo Okaede and Shiki Theater Museum are also worth visiting.

静かに安曇野の桜を楽しめました。

安曇野ちひろ美術館のすぐ近く。ゆったりとした敷地内に日帰り温泉やレストランなどと一緒に宿もあります。
館内は、裸足です。正確には、スリッパはなく、靴下のような足袋をいただき、これで過ごします。気持ちいいものです。
館内2か所位にすずむしを飼っていて、キレイな音を聞かせてくれます。
食事は、とても美味しく、楽しくいただけました。
お風呂のお湯も良かったです。

Nice place beside Chihiro Museum

Location:
I picked this place because I really wanted to see the Chihiro Museum in Azumino. It was walking distance to the museum, but very far from the nearest station (Kita-Hosono / Shinano-Matsukawa).
I guess this place is more accessible to locals, and more locals come here in tour groups in buses and in their own cars than foreign tourists. Hence on the website it seems to state that there is no pick up (in japanese). We did not rent a car so we walked for about half an hour with our luggages. It is a beautiful countryside so we have no complaints walking with our luggages in the great weather. When we went back to the station we asked the hotel to book a taxi. It was about 1000 yen to the nearest station and a 5 minutes ride.
Service:
I was really excited with this find and was looking forward to staying here. However we did not feel very welcomed when we first arrived. Service was lukewarm because they were perhaps not so used to welcoming foreign tourists. We spoke only a little japanese so it was quite difficult to communicate. I am usually okay with this because I have visited other countryside areas where people only spoke japanese but their hospitality made up for it. Over here we didn't experience the same warm hospitality as in other areas.
Thankfully, another staff who welcomed us again when we checked in at 3, a kind middle-aged lady, tried very hard to make us feel at home, and we really appreciate it. She printed out many things for us and tried her very best to explain certain things to us. Thank you so much!
Accomodation:
This was a beautiful accomodation with nice modern touch, concrete exteriors and simple spacious rooms. They have private bathrooms and also a public bath which I also enjoyed.
Overall, it was an average experience staying here, but made better because of the very sincere lady staff who tried her very best to make us feel at home. However, I wouldn't recommend staying here if you would like to know more about Azumino, because this isn't a very tourist-friendly accommodation and the only information they could offer you is in japanese. This accommodation is probably more suitable for local tourists.

日帰り温泉

ドライブの途中に寄りました。
大人500ですね円という安さ。
ただ、洗い場は数が少なくて
ドライヤーは２個しかなくて込み合っていました。
ドライヤー持参したの方がいいと思います。

日帰り温泉などを備えた大施設の一部

宿泊施設は清潔で、風呂も別個にありました。丁度鈴虫が鳴く季節で、明け方の散歩の時も音色に癒やされました。食事は地元の食材が中心です。
