An Unforgettable Family Stay Made Special by an Exceptional Team

My family’s recent stay at Courtyard by Marriott Fukui was one of the most memorable hotel experiences we have had in many years.
From the moment we began communicating before our arrival, every interaction was warm, thoughtful, and reassuring. Our requests were handled with genuine care, and it was clear that the team wanted our family to enjoy a truly special visit.
I would especially like to recognize Ms. Rumina Yamada and Ms. Kaoru Yoshida. They went above and beyond in helping us prepare for our stay by offering thoughtful local recommendations, arranging flowers for my father’s family grave visit, coordinating room preparations for my mother’s comfort, and ensuring every detail was taken care of before we even arrived.
During our stay, Yamada-san welcomed my parents so warmly at your Japanese restaurant that they immediately felt at home. Yoshida-san also kindly took a family photograph at check-out, which has already become one of our most treasured memories from this trip.
What impressed us most was that this level of hospitality extended far beyond these two associates. The welcome amenities, the beautifully selected local sake, the excellent breakfast, the assistance with the flowers, the warm welcome from DO Diane-sama upon our arrival, and the gracious message from GM Nonaka-sama, together with every interaction we had with the Front Office, Housekeeping, Restaurant, and other hotel associates, reflected a team working together with one shared purpose—to create an exceptional guest experience.
After returning home, my parents repeatedly said, “This was the kindest trip we’ve experienced in many years.”
There is no greater compliment they could have given.
Please extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making this journey so special. Courtyard by Marriott Fukui has built an exceptional team, and it truly shows in every aspect of the guest experience.

International brands finally making inroads

This Marriott hotel appeared as a redevelopment property to coincide with the opening of the Shinkansen bullet train in Fukui, where there were no decent accommodations. It stands in a corner of the urban area in front of the station that was once called the triangle, and the lower level consists mainly of retail shops centered on restaurants, the middle level consists of offices, and the upper level consists of a hotel.
As a hotel, the facilities and room facilities are the standard as a Courtyard brand, and while I have no particular complaints, they are not much to admire. The operation seems to be Yours Hotel, which has operated Hotel Fujita and other hotels, and it was noticeably rough for a while after opening, perhaps due to unfamiliarity, but at the time I stayed there I was calm. I feel like having another international brand enter the market will create a reasonable amount of competition, but it may just be a competition for staff that is already small.

Nice view and professional customer service! We stayed as family includes little kids. The location is very convenient and it was very nice atmosphere. We will be back!

Good access and view from the station

Used in June 2026. I don't think you can go to the front desk easily if you are new to this hotel. Entrances are difficult to understand and there is no main entrance dedicated to the hotel. Since there is a hotel in the complex, you will have to use that entrance, but only the escalator. The elevator is in a different location, so you need to use it from there.
From the ground floor to the 3rd floor first → from the hotel entrance on the 3rd floor to the 16th floor by elevator → finally to the front desk on the 16th floor → to the guest room again to the elevator. Yes, you have to take the elevator three times to get to your cabin from the ground. Therefore, it is better to act in good time.

There is also a high-rise hotel, and I think the view from the upper floor is very good.
I used it in a deluxe room, but there is no bathtub. Shower only. Water for drinking is from water purifiers and there is no bottled mineral water. Coffee is a capsule coffee maker.
Pajamas Yu. There is no ice machine, so I will ask the front desk to bring it.
I think access is good because it is right from Fukui station. By the way, partner parking is also difficult to understand.

I stayed two nights on business. It's a bit less upscale than the Marriott head office, but a bit more upscale business hotel plus α. I guess it's more of a stress-free and comfortable place to stay than a place to enjoy your stay. I have no particular complaints. It is only about a 2 minute walk from the station and the access is great. I will use it when I go to Fukui again!
