There are playrooms for children at the hostel. They will be having so much fun that you might have to spend the evening with adults. Accessibility: there is an elevator/lift. There are other services available for the guests of the hostel. For example, a laundry and a safe-deposit box. The staff of the hostel speaks English.

Location is quite far from the JR line station, however you can take a tram there for around 210yen. Staff is very proficient in english and the amenities are top! Very clean spaces for travellers to use in the hotel

Great hostel in Hakodate

For a quick stay in Hakodate, I really liked this hostel. It’s relatively new, modern and very clean. And an incredible value.
Has a small kitchen (although only one burner and no oven), grocery store 5 minutes away, great WiFi and laundry on-site. Local restaurants are nearby but there aren’t a ton. I went to the same place twice though and liked what I had. There is air con in the room if needed. Breakfast is available for a reasonable cost and staff is very nice and speak English well.
There are a few things to be aware of, which aren’t major dealbreakers but would have been good to know ahead of time:
1. This is 35 minutes from the JR station by tram. And 45 minutes by tram from some of the sights. It’s a little further out than I expected
2. There is tram noise from the hostel. You can hear it starting early AM
3. The female dorm is not very comfortable design wise. The stairs to the top bunk take up a lot of space and make the bottom bunks very tight to get in and out. And not much luggage space outside of the wide walkway. The mixed dorms are designed better with the stairs, which is a real miss in this room. It’s fine for a short stay but if that room was full, it would be very comfortable
4. The female dorm is also incredibly dark. You have a bedside light but there is limited lighting in the common areas so you’re constantly fumbling around in the dark. Not great.
Again, not dealbreakers but things to be aware of.
If I’m in town again, I would stay here and would recommend it. Location is eh but there are other pros.

Economical Comfort

We stayed in one of the 6-person private rooms and found it very well priced & comfortable. Even on a weekend, the noise of the bar downstairs was barely audible. With the gap under the door we actually had to actively encourage our children to speak quietly to avoid bothering nearby rooms. The linens were crisp and clean, and the amenities (shower, kitchen) were more than suitable. Being able to walk to many nearby onsens was a perk, as was tram stop out front. The atmosphere was fun & we enjoyed our stay!

フロントのスタッフにドリンクをお願いしようとしたらもう終わりと言われた。けどその後にもお客様に対応していて、お客様によって差があり残念だった。
お部屋は綺麗だったが、女性専用のお部屋の人が通路にスーツケースを開けたままでとても嫌でした。

遮光カーテンあり、二段ベッド上段は階段で移動できる

新しいホステルで快適でした。遮光カーテンあり、二段ベッド上段はパイプはしごではなく、きちんとした階段で上がれるので安心。室内スリッパあり。自炊可能。貴重品ボックスあり。
ホステルなのでタオル有料、荷物預かり有料、歯ブラシ有料などちょっとしたことが有料です。なるべく身の回りのものは準備してから訪れてください。
