連續住了兩天，因為大雪去不了越後湯澤，車站就在對面相當方便，櫃檯的服務小姐看我又從車站走回來住了還認出,讓我這個外國人可以盡快入住有暖房休息

Bizarre hotel with no wifi

One thinks of Japan as a technically advanced country with good communication infrastructure so to stay in a business hotel with no wifi seems bizarre to me.
This might be a reflection of the other quirks I discovered on my brief stay.
Maybe I was unlucky but the view was not very good to say the least - see the photo!
The room was pretty dated and grubby.
Breakfast is a choice of a Japanese tray, crab porridge tray or western tray. When I asked for coffee and toast I was told this was not possible and I had to have the western tray (which came with coffee and toast thus wasting the unwanted eggs , ham and fruit salad!!)
On a plus it is conveniently located for the local train station. If I ever have to go back I think I would plump for the newer looking hotel next door which I was told does have wifi!

Excellent choice for short stay

A nice hotel located next door to the main train station. The rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel has a very good restaurant which has fantastic seafood.
The staff at reception and very helpful and will go out of their way to meet any request with no trouble at all. English spoken by reception staff is of a high level.
Only one small niggle.........rooms don't have WIFI..........wired LAN cable connection only.

Good basic hotel

We stayed here for two nights as a base for skiing in the nearby mountains and found it to be a more than adequate spot for that purpose. The room was good sized and the bath was a bit larger that Japanese standards. Facilities were very well kept and the staff was very courteous and helpful to a fault. The only meals we had at the hotel restaurant were two breakfasts and those were well prepared. The restaurant offered a western breakfast as well as the usual Asian fare. If you are in Nigata city for any reason it would a very good choice.
