It was interesting staying in a Japanese house. Really enjoyed that. However the location was not practical sunce we had to taxi to Gion. I was unable to enjoy the beautiful bath since the water was only lukewarm and I tried many times and yes, I pressed the water red button as instructed

Traditional meets contemporary

The place is massive. Very clean, and the interior was eyecandy. Traditional Japanese meets contemporary. Great when you want to experience tatami mats and the whole wooden feel. The kitchen was also fully equipped for when you want to dine in.
Bear in mind that there is no housekeeping during your stay. Also, there is not much around the area, other than you being steps away from Fushimi Inari. But you are two steps away from the Keihan station that can take you just about anywhere else. So that’s not much of a problem. It’s a great place to stay for a night or two after soaking the beauty of the Torii gates, not more. It does make it a really peaceful environment. Otherwise, I had a great stay.

Beautifully designed renovated Japanese house!

We have thoroughly enjoyed staying here at Koyomi, a smaller house in the little Inari Ohan back lane. The house is beautiful - it incorporates a lot of traditional Japanese style into a contemporary design: there are shoji screens, a tatami floor, and lots of wood - the house is scented with wood and rush :) It even has a large wooden bath overlooking the tiny garden - perfect after a day of sight-seeing! There is a fabulous coffee shop on site too. It is a short walk to the station, and a 5-minute train ride in to Kyoto Station, with its many shops and restaurants. It really has made for a very special stay!

Great property very close to Inari station and shrine. No negatives at all really. Nice bathroom shower and tub, comfy beds with extra pillows in the closet and the kitchen is usable. Overall great stay with great communication from management and easy check in and out process.
