Location is very convenient especially we had a pretty busy schedule around Kyoto - Kifune, Nara, Himeji and then local Kyoto stuff all packed into 2.5 days. Lots of dining options but we ended up ordering via Uber Eats ( received in lobby).

A great stay near Kyoto Station!
This hotel is centrally located. As we were going between Tokyo and Osaka, it was great to be close to Kyoto Station (which is a site worth visiting on its own!)
We had a Family Garden apartment which was nice but we couldn't use the garden at all because there were so many mosquitoes! But, having the green space outside was nice as it made the room feel more comfortable and larger.
The front desk staff were so helpful and friendly. They helped us make dinner reservations and gave us great recommendations!
I definitely recommend this if you are going between cities and need something near the station!

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience here. While the reception staff was welcoming, recommending a great luggage forwarding service, and the location is a convenient 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, the room upkeep was completely unacceptable. This falls on management, not the front desk.
We stayed in a Pokémon room, which was the smelliest, dirtiest room of our Japan trip. It constantly smelled like feet and wet dogs, likely trapped in the carpet from hosting families with kids. The bathroom also smelled like sewage. I reported the odor after the first night; staff said they’d address it, but the smell returned hours later.
The room was beaten up and dirty for an expensive hotel. I found broken outlets, loose faucets, scratched walls, dust in the corners, and multiple food stains on the sofas and carpet.
Amenities were also a letdown. Under a "green" policy, you must request items at check-in, but they were incredibly cheap. The slippers had no padding and felt like plastic bags. Housekeeping never replaced them, forcing me to reuse them because the carpet was too dirty to step on. Also, irons are treated as "borrowed" items that must be returned immediately instead of having one available per room.
Management: Remodel these Pokémon rooms. They take the most abuse from kids. Remove the dirty carpets, fix the broken fixtures, deep clean, and inspect them strictly between stays.
