Accesible and peaceful
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The property is really nice—clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. What stood out the most was the staff; they were exceptionally polite, friendly, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The location is perfect for those looking for peace and quiet, yet it’s also very accessible by bus, which made getting around the area very easy. I appreciated how calm and relaxing the surroundings were—ideal for unwinding after a long day. Overall, a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Excellent value!

The location is great.
It was a hit while looking for reasonable accommodations for sightseeing around Arashiyama.
Reservations are smooth and no problem, the location is of course no problem, on the day of your stay.
Because it is cheap and well-located, it seems that foreigners who publish Kyoto in multiple days usually stay consecutively, and it seemed to take time to check in at the counter because they were busy with luggage storage, accommodation, explanations of consecutive nights, etc.
I was happy to rent the car park. Rooms are neither desirable nor impossible.
If you want to spend a few days in Kyoto sightseeing cheaply, I thought it was a very good inn.

Pretty solid stay! I just needed about 3 days when visiting Kyoto and Osaka. I was surprised that they wanted me to turn in my key every time I went out though. You need to make a reservation if you want to eat breakfast, I didn't go because it seemed like hassle

When I booked on Expedia it said there was laundry available, so we planned our trip/laundry days around that; however, when we arrived at the hotel they informed it was a laundry service provided by the hotel that was only available on the weekends and that there was a coin laundry down the street if needed. Checkout was also a pain that took 10 minutes longer than necessary: you’re required to pay the Kyoto nightly accommodation fee of 200Y per person, totally fine by us, but it charged me on the computer, failed to load, and then we had to pay again at the front desk. I completely understand that the language barrier plays a role in this, but even when using google translate staff was unable to answer our questions about what was going on with laundry and then checkout when we haven’t ran into these problems anywhere else (I’m trying to say it was a staff training issue rather than a language barrier one). It also bothered me that the staff would only look at my male cousin when clarifying things, even though as a female I was the one who booked and paid for the accommodation. Last thing, even though we had a “non-smoking room” the entire building reeks of cigarette smell. Actually one final thing, the closest train stations to the hotel are 1km away, so be prepared to walk in the extreme heat/humidity with all of your luggage for that length if booking here.

Everything is great and value for money. The only thing you may need to consider is the 10-15 minutes walk from railway station and major visitor's area , though they provide shuttle to the railway station.

An accommodation tax is required in Kyoto from October 2018. Guests (both adults and children) are required to pay JPY200 per guest per night if the room rate per night is under JPY6,000, JPY400 per guest per night if the room rate per night is between JPY6,000 and JPY19,999, JPY1,000 per guest per night if the room rate per night is between JPY20,000 and JPY49,999, JPY4,000 per guest per night if the room rate per night is between JPY50,000 and JPY99,999, and JPY10,000 per guest per night if the room rate per night is JPY100,000 or greater.
