A great experience
As a family of four travelling, we were very comfortable with our stay here, albeit for one night, which was a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and even Hakone in comparison. Our stay was for the night of 29 December 2023.
The walk along Lake Biwa and a visit to Nagahama Castle in the early hours of a winter's morning were refreshing and very convenient to the accommodation.
The staff were very welcoming and it seemed they couldn't do enough for you to ensure your wellbeing and comfort.
Dinner and breakfast were Japanese style, very tasty and filling.
If you're after somewhere to stay off the beaten track and a little different, I strongly suggest a stay at Hamakogetsu, Nagahama.

Meals failed, , the others were homely and good
None of the food is good or delicious.
The taste is sweet or thick, there is no fresh taste,
Cold, undercooked, porridge too shabby, dessert too childish. Isn't there a good soup stock for miso soup?
As the days wore on, I felt like I'd thrown the money into a ditch.
Same price at other inns
I'm sorry, because I know the good stuff.
I guess strangers do and look at it and it's word of mouth.
The west side of Lake Biwa was good.
We have to be careful on the east side.

Very welcoming!
The room was spacious and comfortable (though be aware the western-style beds are VERY firm!), the baths were soothing, and the view of Lake Biwa is beautiful.
We were totally blown away by the dinner which turned out to be a 12 course extravaganza of various local foods. Be hungry at dinner time! We were completely stuffed by the end.
Oh, and they have the cutest little beagle puppy that I got to pet before they took her for her evening walk. Totally made my trip.

旅行支援を使っての旅行
露天風呂の湯船も大きく大きな私でも余裕でした。この日は彦根観光し18時頃に
チエックインゆっくりと大風呂に入り食事タイム・・料理も大変美味しく食べきれない程の量でした。夫婦共に酒好き食事の際は魔王のロックをたっぷりと頂きました。魔王そんなに安くて良いのかな？？酒好きは美味しい料理と酒で幸せでした。
朝食も通常よりも早く頂ける段取りをして頂き有難かったです。
2日目は朝9時前には京都に着き旅行カバンはプリンスカウンタよりホテルへ・・
手ぶらに近い状況で京都探索、夜は先斗町で夫婦で食事しながらまたお酒・・
3日目の23日は再度京都へ、金閣寺ー北野天満宮ー祐斎亭ー最終 東福寺のライトUPを見て旅行を終了しました。 浜湖月さんは何しろ最高の宿でしたよ・・
又、桜の季節に御世話になろうかと思います。
